 Published by the Sappers Association, copyright date 1981, hardcover. The jacket is whole, but edge-worn, with several small tears at the top of the spine; the faces are rubbed as too are the external folds. The boards are clean and square. The pages are all clean and unmarked, with the exception of some pencil notes on the front inside paste-down and first free end paper. This part 1 deals with the formation of the South African Engineer Corps and its operations in East Africa and the Middle East to the Battle of Alamein.

The obverse has an eagle on top of a swastika with the lettering "Deutsches Reich 1940". The reverse has the value with two oak-leaves below, and the letter A. The coin is in fair condition. A 1935 Palestine 5 Mils and a 1939 10 Mils coin. They are in good condition. An East Africa 1936 10 Cents coin. The coin is in good condition. A Gewerkschaft Neurath (North Rhine-Westphalia) 10 Pfennig food token. The token is in good condition. 1 Bid for the lot.
