James Bond: From Russia With Love (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description From Russia With Love oo7 (PS2) Review Finally the James Bond games have done what the films shouldve done years ago: theyve gone back to the 60s. From Russia with Love doesnt seem to have all that much to do with the film of the same name (it seems an odd choice anyway since it was the least gadget heavy of all the movies and even vaguely realistic in parts) but it is highly evocative of Connery era Bond in general. Even ignoring the 60s angle, the fact that the game is obviously trying to distance itself from the risible GoldenEye: Rogue Agent is another obvious boon. Its a third person adventure much more in keeping with Everything or Nothing, with a similar mix of on foot and vehicle combat, with particular emphasis seeming to be given to the jetpack from Thunderball. Although Bond looks and sounds (thanks to newly recorded dialogue by the man himself) like Sean Connery the game also has a role-playing element where you can customise your character according to your preferred style of play. Theres also an online and split screen multiplayer mode for you to compare these settings with friends. Alas there doesnt yet seem to be any sign of a mini-game allowing you to ferret out bad guys according to their incorrect choice of wine at the dinner table, but in all other respects this is shaping up to be the ultimate retro Bond game. -- Harrison Dent This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.

Beat The Beat: Rhythm Paradise (Wii) Platform: Nintendo Wii Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Description From playing golf with mandrill to controlling a flowerpot-punching karate man, everything has to be done in time to the beat to win. Try not to let the craziness occurring on screen distract you from the music because it is keeping the rhythm that counts. If you do stop to look at whats going on then you wont be disappointed, as each of the 50 rhythm games has their own short story featuring the classic Rhythm Paradise humour In a European exclusive, fans will also be able to switch between the Japanese and English soundtracks covering many musical styles. Be careful not to miss a beat! Losing the rhythm in Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise means you lose the game - but dont worry, the controls are really easy to pick up! Just press the A Button or the A Button and B Button together! Half the fun is learning how to master each situation, and while the action is just as challenging as fans of the series would expect, beginners wont be stuck for long thanks to the new feature that allows you to check the correct performance of the song to help you to master the required rhythm. Some games can be played in co-op mode, so why not invite a friend to play with you? The aim is to play together and master the different rhythms; the more compatible you are, the higher your score! If youre feeling particularly competitive then why not challenge your friend to play one of the Endless Dual Games? The fun doesnt stop but the action becomes progressively harder as you go on - a real test of your rhythm skills.

Big Brain Academy (Wii) Platform: Nintendo Wii Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information The Wii Remote hands-on control makes playing the game a breeze, and revamps the DS game that exercised playerseᅡᄁ¬ツᆲTM minds with enjoyable brain-teasers In addition to single-player mode, there are versus and co-op multiplayer modes that people of any age or education level to play together Mii data compatible Product Description In Big Brain Academy Wii Degree the Wii Remote controller's hands-on control makes playing a cinch. This rethinking of the popular Nintendo DS game will test players' brains with fun problems and allow people of any age to play together. Multiplayer versus and co-op play modes have also been added, allowing players to use the title as a brain-training exercise... or a raucous party game! Review Nintendo clearly learned a lot from the DS when designing the Wii, with its unique control system and ultra user friendly interface. Its not just the hardware which bares comparison though, with Nintendo planning a similar range of unusual software, some of which can barely be described as a video game at all. Big Brain Academy on the DS was the less academic of the two brain training games released, testing your grey matter in five separate areas categorised as "Think", "Memorize", "Analyze", "Compute" and "Identify". Only three mini-games have been shown so far for the Wii version, the first presenting you with three numbered blocks and a total that you have to reach by adding two of them together. Your job is to knock the one you dont need out by wielding the Wii remote like a hammer. The second game is a variant of spot the difference, except with inverted and distorted pictures where you have to place the missing elements in the second image. The third mini-game displays two towers of bricks where you have to punch holes in one so that it exactly matches up to the other. All three games are played against an opponent, which implies that all or most of the other games will be too. Since you can also use your Mii character this is certain to be a multiplayer favourite for just about anyone in the family. So even if it doesnt improve your brain power it should at least ensure you remain happy in your ignorance. HARRISON DENT

Crash Boom Bang! (Nintendo DS) Platform: Nintendo DS Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information Revolutionary "Touch Panel Communication" multiplayer gameplay Communicate with players through never-before-seen touch panel message in-game feature (speech, sounds, characters) Use wireless LAN to send customized messages mid-game and have fun teaming up with friends or distracting other players' gameplay 40 Wacky Action-oriented Mini-games Taking Full Advantage of the DS Platform 3D graphics, touch screen, microphone, wireless network Unique Betting Feature - Take player interaction to a new level by betting on outcomes of multiplayer games and earning points to purchase items that can enhance the gameplay experience Item Collecting & Trading - Up to 80 items to collect, trade or use to alter gameplay scenarios Enjoy Crash's wacky and zany sense of humour and play as one of 8 of your favourite characters including Crash, Coco, Crunch and Neo Cortex Product Description Multi-player Mayhem... Crash-style! Roll the dice and dive into one of the 40 multiplayer action-oriented mini-games, where you can communicate with other players through the revolutionary DS Motion Panel Communicator. Review In a nutshell: Crash has another bash at throwing his own mini-game party, with plenty of games and four player action - even if it is all about quantity rather than quality. The lowdown: With every video game mascot worth their salt appearing in a Super Mario Kart clone, a second port of call for jobbing platform stars tends to be a riff on the popular Mario Party games. None ever seems to have got the balance between mini-games and board game action quite right though, with too much emphasis on the board and too few mini-games of any worth. Although there are 40 mini-games to play here, few are any fun and having to travel round a pretend board game to get to them only makes things worse - especially if you havent got four people to play with. Most exciting moment: Not all of the mini-game are rubbish and the one where you have to shoot basketballs into a moving hoop is a lot of fun, as is the one where you have to paddle a canoe and grab fruit at the same time. These also happen to be the games that make the most interesting use of the touch screen, something many of the other games fail to do. Since you ask: This isnt the first time that Crash Bandicoot has been "inspired" by the Mario Party series. The game Crash Bash for the original PlayStation owed a considerable amount to Nintendos game, although it wasnt quite so blatant a copy and included less mini-games. The bottom line: Crash just doesnt seem to be much of a party animal in this limp Mario Party clone.- HARRISON DENT

Shrek 2 (Xbox Classics) Platform: Xbox Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Based on the Shrek 2 movie Players control a team of 4 on a hilarious adventure Switch play between Shrek, donkey and 10 fairy tale creatures Solve puzzles, fight monsters and complete wild and dangerous adventures For 1-4 players Product Description Shrek 2 takes players on a wild adventure with Shrek and his buddies. Gamers revisit key scenes from the movie sequel while discovering all-new locations and characters. Shrek2 combines squad-based action with traditional action-adventure elements. Players can control a team of four and play as Shrek or any of his seven friends, switching between each to best utilise the character's unique abilities to solve puzzles, fight monsters and complete dangerous and thrilling adventures. Review Even the most ardent of Shrek fans would have to admit that so far the games based on the big green goofball havent quite been up to scratch. In fact theyve been completely rubbish. Shrek 2, based directly on the new movie, is a step back in the right direction. At its core the game is a sort of scrolling beat-'em-up, interspersed with numerous little puzzles to overcome as you try to navigate the various fairytale realms. What makes things a lot more interesting is that you actually manage a team of four characters at a time, taking control of one at a time and having the other three follow along behind. The defaults include Shrek, Fiona and Donkey, but you also get to use Gingerbread Man, Lil' Red, Puss in Boots and The Big Bad Wolf. The best bit is that if you can get three friends to help, then one person can actually control a character each, which really livens things up. But even in single player mode any of the characters can get a chance to take part in a "Hero Time" mini-game that provides a enjoyable respite from the main game as you take a ride on a dragon with Donkey or indulge in a singalong with Fiona. Although the graphics are impressive (much more so than the sound, which doesnt feature the original movie cast), the main gameplay can get a bit monotonous. But for Shrek fans and general young 'uns theres more to enjoy here than with most film licenses. -- David Jenkins --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Burnout 2 Platinum (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Six exciting new US locations including Los Angeles and a busy international airport 32 new stages, 14 new vehicles to race Seven secret vehicles including police cars, 1950s hotrods and stock cars Point-to-point races All-new points-based championship gameplay structure Offensive Driving 101--"Learn to Burn" in the Burnout Driving School All-new Pursuit races--ram opponents off the road in a police car New Custom Series Mode--modify your vehicles Intelligent traffic system Product Description Burnout 2, like its acclaimed predecessor, puts fun right at the top of the agenda, dispenses with niggling irritants like realism and delivers top-class gaming entertainment. So whats new? There are additional locations, including a twisty road round the Rocky Mountains and an inspired airport-based level. There is also a greater choice of vehicles. Naturally enough you have to balance your need for speed against the need for good handling and take into account the weather and the kind of level youre racing across. Yet the core of Burnout 2 is still arcade-style racing and theres little else that does it better. Its incredibly accessible and an absolute blast to play. It doesnt matter whether youre competing in the enhanced single-player modes or hooking up with friends--its completely irresistible. Visually, the game looks great and moves very, very quickly. The action is interspersed with elaborate crashes, and when you do hit something you shouldnt, youre rewarded with an action replay for your trouble. There are genuinely very few negatives here. Those who prefer their driving games flavoured with a bit more realism are going to be happier with a Gran Turismo game. Also, despite some good improvements and additions, there arent enormous differences between this and the original Burnout. However, Burnout 2 is an exemplary piece of gaming entertainment, and a welcome antidote to the growing band of games that just take themselves far too seriously. Treat yourself. But for Shrek fans and general young 'uns theres more to enjoy here than with most film licenses. -- David Jenkins

Shrek 2 (GameCube) (U) Platform: GameCube Condition: Pre-Owned/Used in Very Good Condition This Title Also Available As: New: Brand New and Sealed games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Pre-owned games supplied with applicable serial keys. However - please note: Any single use keys or activation codes may have already been used/redeemed. Product Information Based on the Shrek 2 movie Players control a team of 4 on a hilarious adventure Switch play between Shrek, donkey and 10 fairy tale creatures Solve puzzles, fight monsters and complete wild and dangerous adventures For 1-4 players Product Description Shrek 2 takes players on a wild adventure with Shrek and his buddies. Burnout: Revenge (PS2) Platform: PlayStation2 Condition: New This Title Also Available As: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition games available Please get in touch for information on these options. Product Information Burnout Revenge lets gamers literally rip cars to shreds All-new cars in three classes (race, muscle and crash) features tracks spanning three continents and inspired by real-world cities - from Detroit to Rome to Tokyo Take Burnout Revenge online for 6 player online action Product Description Burnout: Revenge (PS2) Review Even amongst EAs own stable of titles, Burnout is regarded by many as the best arcade racer of them all and this fourth iteration, subtitled Revenge, looks like being a solid addition to the line. It seems to have wisely realised that the best bit in any of the Burnout games is the amount of destruction you can cause as you race and that all that winning a race malarkey is almost a secondary concern. A new revenge meter tracks exactly how much damage you cause as you play skittles with traffic and try to cause as big a pile-up as possible--an activity that is encouraged even further in the new Traffic Attack mode. The actual revenge of the title though comes into play when you prang a specific rival one too many times and they start to take a personal interest in seeing your car go up in flames. Although it doesnt seem as if the graphics have changed all that much since the last game the level design has certainly become more inventive with huge multi-layer track layouts reminiscent of arcade classic Rave Racer --tearing along an overpass to fall vertically down three levels straight onto an opponents bonnets is pretty special. Although surviving any of the games crashes would be impossible in real-life it has become slightly more realistic in other areas with more car deformation than before and real cities, including Detroit, Rome and Tokyo. Whether the appallingly annoying DJ from the last game is still in it though remains to be seen¬タᆭ-- Harrison Dent This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.

Big Brain Academy (Wii) Platform: Nintendo Wii Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information The Wii Remote hands-on control makes playing the game a breeze, and revamps the DS game that exercised players¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ minds with enjoyable brain-teasers In addition to single-player mode, there are versus and co-op multiplayer modes that people of any age or education level to play together Mii data compatible Product Description Big Brain Academy Review Nintendo clearly learned a lot from the DS when designing the Wii, with its unique control system and ultra user friendly interface.

Star Wars: Rogue Leader - Rogue Squadron II (GameCube) Platform: GameCube Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Based on the original 1977 movie Stunning recreation of the climactic scene Detailed background graphics Play as Luke, with R2D2 riding shotgun 11 missions over ice planet Hoth, the Death Star, and more Product Description Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and its proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars--if that doesnt raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then theres probably not much in the world of video games that will. Thankfully, the jaw-dropping graphics are matched up to a very playable shoot em-up that works as a slightly more in-depth version of the PS2s Starfighter, except without any of that Episode I nonsense; instead it recreates everything from the Death Star trench run to the Battle of Hoth. The game is actually a sequel to Rogue Squadron on the N64--an excellent game that many only remember from the rather lacklustre PC version. Its structurally very similar to the original, with a dozen or so levels and a Star Destroyer full of secret levels and ships. There are a few new ideas, such as controllable wingman and ground troops, and some of the levels are set in deep space instead of just planetside, but at its heart this is still Rogue Squadron Deluxe. What elevates the game to an object of worship is the graphics--they really do look almost identical to the movies, with several scenes being copied exactly, and move with a fluidity and grace you wouldnt have thought possible from a ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿150 console. The only flaw is that the missions are needlessly short, but theres plenty of replayability, and by gosh theres those graphics...--David Jenkins Review Rogue Leader has some of the best graphics ever seen on a home console and it's proper, old-fashioned, Star Wars --if that doesn't raise at least an eyebrow of your interest then there's probably not much in the world of video games that will. Football Manager 2007 (PSP) Platform: Sony PSP Condition: New Other versions of this game available from us: Platform: Pre-Owned/Used: Very Good Condition copies available Product Information Improved player search system Database editing Improved Coach Reports Transfer enquiries Multiplayer Downloadable graphics Product Description Review In a nutshell: Ron Managers of the world rejoice the best football management game in the world just got better. From the original creators of Championship Manager comes the most in-depth and realistic strategy simulation ever seen. The lowdown: Having already got the balance between complexity and accessibility pretty much spot on, most of the improvements in this latest sequel are designed to make the game feel more organic and believable. A lot of it is simple stuff like being able to conduct team talks and see how players are responding to your dressing room dress downs, but it really makes a difference. Its also possible for major clubs to sign up smaller ones as feeder clubs, while players themselves have a greater level of personality and new signings can be asked to recommend other players. None of the new changes have a massive impact on the way you play the game, but they all serve to create an even more immersive reality. Most exciting moment: The scouting engine has also received a major revamp and makes searching for new stars a lot easier. The scouts you send out can now learn from their experiences and a new scout report card makes it easier to get a quick overview while you do your superstar shopping. Since you ask: This version of the game still doesnt have anything approaching moving graphics and its unlikely thats ever going to change. The interface has been greatly improved though so that its not only easier to use but also faster and smoother. The bottom line: The best football management game ever made.- HARRISON DENT
