Title: Marvin Gaye Live! LP. Artist: Marvin Gaye. Format: Vinyl LP. Label: Tamla Motown Records. Marvin Gaye Live! is the second live album issued by soul musician Marvin Gaye, released on June 19, 1974 by Tamla Records. In 1973, Gaye released his greatest-selling album, Let's Get It On, which made him the biggest-selling Motown artist during his lifetime. Motown Records, Gaye's label for over a decade, had long wanted Gaye to promote his recordings with a national tour but the rebellious singer, who had begun suffering from stage fright after the collapse of his beloved singing duet partner Tammi Terrell in October 1967 and whom later died of a brain tumor two and a half years later in March 1970, had refused to return to live performing only agreeing to do it only at sporadic times including when he was honored in his hometown in Washington, D.C. in May 1972 and performed at the Kennedy Center and briefly on the 1973 film, Save the Children. But with the success of Let's Get It On and Gaye's now-increasing spending habit, he reluctantly agreed to start touring again in the beginning of 1974. After rescheduling the concert for January 4, 1974 at the Oakland Coliseum, Gaye took the stage in front of 14,000-plus screaming fans. He performed a new song which he dedicated to his girlfriend Janis Hunter titled "Jan" and performed most of his 1970s repertoire, only including his 1960s classics in a sped-up "Fossil Medley". Throughout his tours, Gaye began developing performance anxiety and had feared the public wouldn't accept him onstage. To test the public, he reportedly forced his younger brother Frankie to come out before being confident enough to come out afterwards. The biggest fan response on the album came when Gaye retooled his song, "Distant Lover", into a slower-paced version starting the song out as he segued from "Theme from Trouble Man" (seventh track from his Trouble Man album) to the song itself producing female shrieks, which kept up as Gaye continued his show-stopping performance of the song. The performance soon became a Gaye trademark onstage and the singer continued to perform the song in that similar style until his final performances in the 1980s. Discover the Power of a Reinvented Classic Condenser! From the leading broadcast facilities world-wide to the recording studios and the performance stages that have hosted the top musical artists of all genres for more than 60 years, the AKG C 414 multi-pattern condenser microphone needs little introduction. There are few microphones that are as widely accepted as a de facto part of any professional engineer's mic locker as this famous microphone. Part of what has maintained the C 414 as an industry standard has been its impressive versatility, and AKG has pushed the envelope again with the addition of the C 414 XL II this famous line. The C 414 XL II (the successor of the famous C 414 B-TL II) differs from the C 414 XLS by offering a slight presence boost and by providing the spatial reproduction capability of the legendary AKG C 12 microphone. This characteristic response and spatial detailing makes lead vocals and solo instruments stand out, even in a densely packed mix. This signature up-front sound is also excellent for distant miking applications making the C 414 XL II ideal for classic music recording or drum ambience miking. And because of its 9-pattern design, leading-edge technology, state-of-the-art components, and reference-quality results, the AKG C 414 XL II ushers in a new standard in microphone versatility. The C414 XL II offers nine pickup patterns which enable you to choose the perfect setting for every application. In addition to the five patterns traditionally offered by the C 414 (omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, and figure eight), you also get four intermediate settings that let you dial in the best pattern to suite your environment. It also features an astoundingly low noise floor and a 152dB dynamic range, making the C 414 XL II ideal for any musical environment. A locking mode allows you to disable all of the C 414 XL II's controls for live-sound applications and permanent installations, and a special "Peak Hold" LED displays even shortest overload peaks. AKG C 414 XL II Multi-pattern Condenser Microphone Features at a Glance: Omni, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, figure eight, and four intermediate pickup patterns Lock Mode disables all controls easily for live and installation use Incredible Dynamic Range of 152 dB Three different bass cut filters and three pre-attenuation levels Peak Hold LED even detects shortest overload peaks Includes carrying case, pop filter, windscreen, and spider-type shock mount Frequency range: Hz Sensitivity: 20 mV/Pa (-34 dBV) ± 0.5 dB Max. For Sale: 42" LG Plasma TV Frameless ! As New !! If you could choose one word to describe the exterior aesthetics of the LG 42PG60UR plasma TV, it would be gorgeous. A single sheet of glass overlies the dark grey plasma screen and the outer gleaming black frame, giving the impression that these two elements are flush against one another. The bottom border of the front bezel curves backwards gracefully, but not before parading an LG logo at the centre, and a smiling crescent power LED indicator (which is spooned by a similarly arced power button) at the bottom right. Placed underneath the plasma body are what looks like a pair of speaker grilles and some control buttons. Surrounded by matte silver trim on the sides, design-wise the LG 42PG60UR flat screen television looks like a distant (and much bigger) relative of Apple's iPod Touch. The quality of build and finishing is impressive, and the entire plasma panel sits proudly atop a swivelling pedestal stand. This TV has a very fast refresh rate and is perfect for the sports enthusiast, movie or gaming person. It has a built in media player for movies, pictures and music. It Comes with TWO remote controls. R5000 CONTACT: 0829748904
