This is a very interesting vintage tea pot from China. It was made from clay and fired in the kiln without smoothing it out or glazing it. The result is a tea pot feeling like sand paper. The interesting part of this tea pot is though, the handle and spout is on the same side. This turns pouring hot water into an art form. There is one small crack on the lid, but it so tiny, I could not get the camera to focus on it. The rest of the tea pot is in very good condition, no chips or other cracks. This is a very rare tea pot, I could not find a match for it anywhere on the net when I did my research on it. Ask about postage and courier.

The original Earl Grey tea was named after Charles Grey, the Second Earl Grey in the 18th century, who commissioned a Chinese mandarin to blend a tea to suit the water at his family home. Bergamot was added to offset lime in the local water and a very special tea was born, proving popular amongst the social elite. This tea is based on Chinese black tea, flavoured with bergamot oil (a Sicilian relative of the lemon) and finally accented with beautiful blue cornflowers. A classic that every teapot should be well-acquainted with.
