Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling by Amy Chozick (Audiobook) Title: Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling Author: Amy Chozick Narrator: Amy Chozick Genre: Biography & Autobiography - Political Type: Audiobook Delivery method: Please refer to "Shipping & Payment" Description: For nearly a decade, Amy Chozick chronicled Hillary Clintonメs pursuit of the presidency. Chozickメs front-row seat, initially at the Wall Street Journal covering Mrs. Clintonメs imploding 2008 campaign, and then at the New York Times where she was assigned モThe Hillary Beatヤ, set off a years-long journey in which the formative years of her twenties and thirties became, both personally and professionally, intrinsically intertwined to Clintonメs presidential ambitions. As Mrs. Clinton tried, and twice failed, to shatter モthat highest hardest glass ceiling,ヤ Chozick was trying, with various fits and starts, to scale the highest echelons of American journalism. In a rollicking, hilarious, dishy narrative, Chozick takes us through the high- (and low-) lights of a wildly dramatic presidential race. But Chozickメs unique vantage point and candor lift the veil from the story we thought we all knew. Here is the real story of what happened, with the kind of inside detail that constantly surprises and enlightens. But Chasing Hillary is also the unusually personal and moving story of how Chozick came to understand Clinton not as an unknowable enigma and political animal, but as a complete, complex, person, full of contradictions and forged in the crucible of political battles that had long predated Chozickメs years covering her. And as Chozick gets engaged, married, buys an apartment, climbs the professional ladder, and inquires about freezing her eggs so she can have children after the 2016 campaign, she dives deeper into decisions Mrs. Clinton had made at similar points in her early career. In the process, Chozick develops an intimate understanding of what drives Clinton, how she accomplished what no woman had before, and why she ultimately failed. And the social fissures in the electorate that would drive angry voters to Donald Trump and blindside Hillary Clinton, unexpectedly bring out the tensions in Chozickメs own life-between the red state she came from and the blue state she ended up in, between her desire to climb in journalism as a woman, but be treated no differently than a man. Mrs. Clinton's shocking defeat would mark the end of the almost imperial hold she'd had on Chozick for most of her professional life. But the results also make Chozick question everything sheメd worked so hard for in the first place. Political journalism had failed. The elite world Chozick had tried for years to fit in with had been rebuffed. The less qualified, bombastic man had triumphed, as they always seemed to do, and Mrs. Clinton had retreated to the woods in Chappaqua, N.Y. finally comfortable enough to just walk, no makeup, no pants suit, showing the real person Chozick had spent years hoping to see. Illuminating, poignant, laugh-out-loud funny, Chasing Hillary is a campaign book like never before.

It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 12 working days Frank Gamble came from a family of Evertonians but as is often the way in Liverpool he found his way to Anfield as a boy and fell in love with the Reds. Like most fans he followed the team when he could until in 1979 he saw an advertisement in the local paper which said: 'Liverpool Football Club invite invitations for the position of Lottery Sales Manager to work for the Development Association'.. Frank applied and, despite wearing a pale green double breasted suit and lime green tie for the interview, got the job. He stayed for ten years as Liverpool dominated English football. With Frank in the development office they won the First Division six times, the FA Cup twice, the League Cup four times and the European Cup twice. It wasn't all success, though. In 1985 Frank led an official supporters party to Brussels to watch the European Cup final with Juventus. The result was horror in the Heysel Stadium as 39 fans, mostly Italians, lost their lives. As Frank writes: 'I was heavily involved in the build up to Heysel and witnessed firsthand the aftermath and results of those morons that led the charge into the neutral zone Z and it has haunted me ever since so Christ knows what the families of the dead have gone through.' Frank also remembers the build up to another tragedy - the Hillsborough disaster - looking out in 1988 at the Liverpool fans in the Leppings Lane end and thinking how crushed they were. By January 1989 Frank had left after a row. He was cleaning his car when he heard about the tragedy in which 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives. The book is about triumph and tragedy. Frank shows the human side of the men who became legends. About the product 8vo; original green rexine, lettered in black on spine and upper cover; pp. (viii) + 116, incl. index; plates; maps, incl. folding. Very good condition. Uncommon. The author attempts"to describe how, between 1871 and 1881, the Cape government on behalf of the British Government, performed the task of ruling the Basotho, who had become British subjects in March 1868. Several problems arose from this exercise in government by proxy. The attitude of the Basotho towards the Cape, for example, hinted at their dissatisfaction with the arrangement. From time to time their spokesmen said they would have preferred direct rule by England, and were a little unhappy to find themselves wards of the Cape Colony. The Cape's relations with the republic of the Orange Free State were in danger of becoming less cordial because of the treatment of the Basotho by the officials and/or ordinary citizens of that country, which sometimes elicited protests from the Cape authorities. Then there was always the question of the Cape's administration of the Africans within its borders, which could influence it to manage the affairs of Lesotho in a manner likely to be unpopular with the Basotho." J. M. Mohapeloa: Government by Proxy. Ten years of Cape Colony rule in Lesotho 1871-1881

A tough, resourceful master of his trade, British Intelligence agent Nick Stone has just been given a chilling ultimatum: find a missing agent who appears to have defected or lose the guardianship of his beloved nine-year-old daughter. In Stone's mind, there is no choice. The "runner" is Sarah Greenwood, U.K. liaison with the Counterterrorism Center, a cell set up by the CIA to warn against potential terrorist attacks. Steel-willed, beautiful, cunning, Sarah is also Nick's former lover, the only woman who has ever been allowed under his rough, impenetrable guard. "It's not only what you see. Sometimes what isn't there is just as important as what is." Relying on his keen instincts and cool logic, Nick tracks Sarah to the mountainous backwoods of North Carolina. There, in a remote cabin, she conspires with two Middle Eastern men. Then Nick's mission takes a decidedly dark turn when he receives a T104--an order to kill Sarah without a trace. But nothing is what it seems, as Nick and Sarah themselves become hunted, racing deeper into a dark, deadly conspiracy that will change the course of world events--and the lives of millions. With seventeen years of active service in the elite SAS force, Andy McNab writes from his own harrowing experiences. As compelling and relentless as a fast-burning fuse, Crisis Four hurtles us into a breathtaking plot of nonstop action and suspense. Packed with authentic procedural details, it is a thriller so gritty and real that you won't know where fact ends and fiction begins. "From the Hardcover edition."  Blackout The Eskom Crisis - James-Brent Styan - Jonathan Ball - 2015 - Paperback. In 1998 the South African government was warned that the country was running out of electricity. Despite the warnings, the decision was taken not to invest in new power stations. Had the warnings been heeded, South Africa could have had a new power station up and running by 2006 and load shedding may never have happened. Instead, in 2007, as predicted, South Africa ran out of electricity.   Eight years later, the crisis has deepened and despite assurances to the contrary by government leadership, it has the potential to become the biggest post-apartheid crisis in South Africa. By 2015 load shedding cost the South African economy an estimated R2 billion per day. Is the situation getting better or worse? Are the interventions working or is a blackout inevitable? What can be done and what do future scenarios look like? Blackout: The Eskom Crisis provides a look at what’s happening to one of the greatest power utilities in the world, the greatest on the African continent. It deals with everything from load shedding to blackouts and unpacks the issues raging around candlelight dinners in households across South Africa today.
