Between August 31st and November 9th Jack the Ripper brutally murdered 5 women on the streets of Whitechapel. Despite the best efforts of the Metropolitan Police and Inspector Frederick Abberline the killer was never found. After the last horrific murder, that of Mary Jane Kelly in November the attacks stopped and Jack the Ripper's murder 'hallmark' was never seen again. In June, Sir Melville Macnaghten joins Scotland Yard as Assistant Chief Constable. With access to all the past police reports on the Ripper case, Macnaghten begins his own investigation into the murders. His investigation will uncover several new aspects which states that Jack the Ripper had only 5 victims, now know as the 'Canonical Five'. Macnaghten enlists the help of new Forensic Science being pioneered by Sir Francis Galton to help with the investigations.
