Vintage British Army combat smock - c1978. Camouflage uniform clothing was issued as a standard item to all ranks and branches of the British Army from about 1960, but the DPR (Disruptive Pattern Material) was issued from 1968. This genuine smock (name of soldier is on tag) features four flapped pockets secured by green plastic buttons, buttons to cuffs and extended epaulettes. To the left upper sleeve is fitted a rectangular pen and pencil pocket, secured by a flap and button. It also features a full-length zipper and is also secured by five exposed buttons. There is a concealed drawer cord fitted to the waist for tighter fit, and one more to the hem of the skirt. A button fitted to the outer neck of the collar, allows a camouflage-patterned hood to be fitted, fastened to the neck and the two epaulette buttons. Inside of the smock is sewn a tail of DPM cloth intended to be brought up between the wearer's legs and fastened by buttons located in three matching pairs to the inside front. Also within the inside of the smock is a pocket to the rear, large enough to stow a rolled poncho, NBC suit or quilted liner. The tag inside the smock reads "Smock, Mans Combat (1968 Pattern) No. 8405-99-122.6086 (Gurkha) Size G8, James Smith & Co. (Derby) Ltd. Staveley, A/78/Clo/34123/DC69(1)". It is in great condition - looks like it was hardly worn. Great buy for the collector.

  ORIGINAL  and very rare uniform  that not many individuals had the need to own or wear as part of the SAAF. Prior to the war, this uniform would been worn for full dress occasions such as parades, funerals, royal functions, and only by career officers of which there were few. Many officers did not own uniforms like this as they were expensive and simply rented them. The dark blue tunic is worn with  red striped stirrup pants and patent leather boots with spurs. White gloves were regulation.  The tunic features a row of oversized  solid brass gilt buttons that are not found on any other uniform. This style was part of the army tradition that had carried on since the time of the RFC and the first world war. The later RAF had long since disbanded this style but since the SAAF retained army ranks and traditions, this uniform was retained. The high red collar features  beautifully embroidered SAAF collar devices, surmounted on a red wool high collar and outlined in gold wire russian braid. The full dress SAAF wing is  hand embroidered in bullion thread.  The pointed gilt bordered  sleeves are similar to the uniforms worn during the first world war and became obsolete by the twenties. Once WWII arrived, these uniforms were never worn again. This uniform for sale is missing the shoulder boards,the pilot wing is loose and so is one collar badge One button on the sidecap has been replaced by a Italian WW2 button and the cap badge is missing Label is intact in pocket of tunic.Tunic is a medium size with armpit to armpit being 46 cm.The pants is a 30 inch waist.   The size of this Aapjas measures: Shoulder Tip to Shoulder Tip 58cm. Arm pit to Arm pit 63cm. The length of the sleeve measures 450cm. The length from the collar to the bottom seam measures 830cm. All buttons on inner intact. No holes or tears. This Aapjas is still in a very good condition.  

Genuine US Air Force Desert Sand camouflage pattern combat coat - men's large. This combat coat would have been utilised in the desert war. It has the owners name, rank and U.S. Air Force sewn onto it. The coat is a 'bush type' design with two expanding chest area pockets with two tan button closures and straight edge flaps. The upper left pocket also has a pencil/pen case within the larger pocket. There are five tan button closures down the front and they are protected by the placket that covers them. The lower pockets also have the two button closure with protective flap. Both of the sleeves have adjustable cuffs that have three buttons to choose from for better fit and they have a tab closure. It has a fold down collar and it tapers slightly in at the waist. The manufacturing label has the following instructions on how to wear this coat; 1. Wear outside of trousers and 2. Adjust closures to ventilate and avoid overheating. The Stock No. is 8415-01-327-5312. The coat is in great condition - looks hardly used. Great buy for the collector.

It has the owners name, U.S. Marines sewn onto it, with the emblem on the left pocket. The coat is a 'bush type' design with two expanding chest area pockets with two green button closures and straight edge flaps. The upper left pocket also has a pencil/pen case within the larger pocket. There are five green button closures down the front and they are protected by the placket that covers them. The lower pockets also have the two button closure with protective flap. Both of the sleeves have adjustable cuffs that have three buttons to choose from for better fit and they have a tab closure.
