The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game   is a cooperative adventure game in which the players attempt to complete a scenario, each with three heroes of their choice and a deck of allies, events and attachments to support them. Each round, players send their heroes and allies to quest or to fight with enemies that engage them. However, as the heroes and allies exhaust after questing, defending, or attacking, the players' options are typically insufficient to deal with everything at once. Therefore, players need to determine whether it is more urgent to quest and make progress in the scenario while the enemy forces gain power, or to take down enemies while making no progress, not knowing what will come next. The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game   is the base game of a Living Card Game for which new adventure packs are released monthly. The base game contains three scenarios, twelve famous characters from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (including Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Denethor and Eowyn), and four pre-constructed player decks. Players can either use one of these decks or construct their own deck to increase their chances to be succesful in the more challenging scenarios. The monthly adventure packs contain a new scenario, a new hero, and new player cards to be used in their deck. The base game is for 1-2 players, but with an additional base game the scenarios can be played with up to four players. Although this game is set in Tolkien's Middle Earth, the scenarios do not represent scenes from the books, but rather take place in the seventeen years from Bilbo's 111th birthday until Frodo's departure from the Shire.   EXPLODING KITTENS CARD GAME   Description   Exploding Kittens is a card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats. In this highly-strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette, players draw cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten, at which point they explode, they are dead, and they are out of the game — unless that player has a defuse card, which can defuse the Kitten using things like laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches. All of the other cards in the deck are used to move, mitigate, or avoid the Exploding Kittens. Pokemon is a  collectible card game, based on the  Pokmon   video game  series.  The game has sold 23.6   billion cards worldwide. Players assume the role of a Pokmon trainer and use their Pokmon to battle their opponents'. Players play Pokmon to the field and attack their opponent's Pokmon. A Pokmon that has sustained enough damage is knocked out, and the player who knocked it out draws a Prize card. There are usually six Prize cards, and the primary win condition is to draw all of them. Other ways to win are by knocking out all the Pokmon the opponent has on the field such that the opponent has none left, or if at the beginning of their opponent's turn there are no cards left to draw in the opponent's deck. Players begin by having one player selects heads or tails, and the other flips a coin; the winner of the coin flip will decide who goes first or second. The player going first cannot attack on their first turn. (Dice may be used in place of coins, with even numbers representing heads and odd numbers representing tails). Players then shuffle their decks and draw seven cards, then play one Basic Pokmon onto the field. This Pokmon is known as the Active Pokmon, and is usually the one that attacks and receives damage. If a player does not have any Basic Pokmon, they must shuffle and draw a new hand, and the opponent may draw one additional card. Once both players have at least one Basic Pokmon, they can play up to five more Basic Pokmon onto their "Bench" (representing the maximum-carry limit of six from the video games). Players then take the top six cards of their deck and place them to the side as Prize Cards. Play then begins with the player who won the coin flip. Play alternates between players who may take several actions during their turn, including playing new Basic Pokmon, evolving their Pokmon, playing Trainer cards and Energy cards, and using Pokmon Abilities. A player may also retreat their Active Pokmon, switching the Active Pokmon with one on the Bench. At the end of their turn, a player may use one of their Active Pokmon's attacks, provided the prerequisite amount and types of Energy are attached to that Pokmon. Effects from that attack are then activated and damage may be placed on the Defending Pokmon (some attacks simply have effects but do not do damage). This damage may be modified depending on whether the defender has a Weakness or Resists the attacker's Pokmon type. If the final damage exceeds the defending Pokmon's HP, it is Knocked Out, and the active player takes a Prize Card and ends their turn.
