In good condition (2005) In a late-night showdown, Detective Lindsay Boxer has to make an instantaneous decision: in self-defence she fires her weapon - and sets off a chain of events that leaves a police force disgraced, a city divided and a family destroyed. Now everything she's worked for her entire life hinges on the decision of twelve jurors. To escape the media circus, Lindsay retreats to the picturesque town of Half Moon Bay. Soon after, a string of grisly murders punches through the community. There are no witnesses; there is no pattern. But a key detail reminds Lindsay of an unsolved murder she worked on years ago. As summer comes into full swing, Lindsay and her friends in the Women's Murder Club battle for her life on two fronts: in court and against a ruthless killer.

Even a cursory glance at the news is enough to convince us that the world is falling into chaos. But we haven't seen anything that compares to what will happen in the final events leading to the second coming of Jesus Christ. For anyone who longs to know what the future holds--and especially for those who look for a glimmer of hope in our broken world--highly respected pastor and Bible teacher Bryant Wright offers a book that shows God has not lost control over his creation. In fact, he has a sovereign plan that includes ultimate victory for the church and the salvation of his people, Israel. God's timeless promises offer hope to believers who are grieved at the state of the world. Wright carefully illuminates the signs of the times that point toward his glorious appearing and millennial reign, and answers common questions, such as: - What does the Bible say about the antichrist? - What will be the future of Israel? - Where is Armageddon, what will happen there, and why? From the Back Cover "The future is bright because Jesus is coming again. This work will get you ready for that glorious day."--Daniel L. Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary Even a cursory glance at the news is enough to convince us that the world is falling into chaos. But God is still in control of his creation--and he keeps his promises. In fact, he has a sovereign plan that includes ultimate victory for the church and the salvation of his people, Israel. The Stage Is Set carefully illuminates the signs of the times that point toward Christ's glorious appearing and millennial reign, answering questions you have about the identity of the antichrist, the future of Israel, the location of Armageddon, and more. He is coming. Soon. And his people must be ready. Are you? "Bryant Wright has done a remarkable job jolting faithful believers into the realization that The Stage Is Set for the end times. Don't just read this book. Pass it on!"--Michael Youssef, PhD, author of Jesus, Jihad, and Peace "Insightful. Hopeful. Needed. In a world that seems to be crumbling around us, The Stage Is Set reminds us that God paints on a canvas bigger than we can see or imagine. If you have ever questioned what will happen when Jesus returns, this book is for you!"--Louie Giglio, director of the Passion Movement; author of The Comeback Bryant Wright is pastor of the 8,500-member Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, and past president of the Southern Baptist Convention. First Edition, Collins, London, 1963. Hard Cover, Red cloth boards, with gilt title, author and publisher on the spine. The binding is sound, with square, un-bumped corners. There is a very little shelf wear to the tail end of the boards, head and tail of spine lightly bumped. If not for sellotape stains The boards would be near fine, (It seems that the dust wrapper was repaired with sellotape on the inside, the fatty residue of the sellotape has unfortunately marked the boards, both front and back). End papers are maps, paste down end-papers still bears some residue of the ghastly sellotape, front free end paper has a booksellers ink stamp with price on it. Page opposite title page has a previous owners name written on it otherwise the contents are clean and bright an occasional fingerprint is some-times discernible. Dust Jacket is illustrated and has NOT been clipped, it is bumped, with scuffing and minor chips, Head corner of front wrap has been badly "gouged", and front head corner nearest spine has a small chunk missing, but is otherwise complete, And of course it has the terrible sellotape stains. Wrapper is now in a removable protective cover. From the blurb: "This impressive novel of the Boer War is painted on the immense canvas of the African veld - thousands of square miles of it - where Boers, British soldiers, women and children move over the plains and mountains in battles among burning farms".

Ehrengard is a delightful fairy-tale set in the early nineteenth century in the grand Duchy of Babenhausen. The story revolves around the desire of the court portrait painter, Herr Cazotte, to seduce Ehrengard, maid-of-honour to Princess Ludmilla.  The artist's ambition is to conquer the young maiden simply by causing her to blush 'not with indignation at an assault, but with ecstacy at a revelation...In this blush her past, present and future will be thrown at my feet'.  To this end he resolves to paint a portrait of her as Venus bathing: to capture her on canvas for all eternity.  But the beautiful maid from the mountains is not swift to surrender her virtue, as the artist discovers to his cost. "Ehrengard is the lightest, the most purely comic and pastoral story she ever wrote...it is unsurpassed by sheer loveliness...(it)brings all Isak Dinesen's work to a triumphant conclusion."  Robert Langbaum, author of Isak Dinesen's Art. Soft cover, good condition.  111 pages, all intact.

Blue Harrell:  Secret bodyguard.  Speciality - invisibility.  Rating - excellent, little regard for her own life. Working undercover as a terrorist to expose illegal gunrunners, agent Quinn Eisley had escaped executions one too many times to think he was that good at his job.  Obviously, someone else's job was to save his neck when things got too ugly.  But when he pulled Blue Harrell out of the shadows, he found himself working harder to expose the reason why this tough, beautiful woman didn't care if she came out of this hell dead or alive. Soft cover, fair condition.  The cover is creased and scuffed in places.  250 pages.
