Here we have on auction a used BUT great condition Recce (SA Special Forces) SADF era copy camo long sleeved shrt in copy Tanzanian DPM tropical lightweight camo fabric - copy camo cloth and style (cut/ sewn) in a SADF style/ pattern. This is a great summer shirt with pockets on both sleeves for a FFD and small note-book or compass etc. This l/s shirt is still intact, no damage and the colours are still bright and vibrant and as a MEDIUM size ideal for display purposes as an exmaple of the Recce copy camo programme - which mimic'd the small details of enemy uniforms - even down to the buttons used and cloth weight! Here on auction we have a very VERY rarely seen original period worn "Terr" SWAPO PLAN (Egyptian supplied - part of the rare "rocks camo reversible set I believe!) camo cap - field worn!!! LOOK at that wear-AND-tear!!! A real been-there & done-that item@!!! I wonder what stories this cap could tell if only it could talk!!!! - I strongly believe that these particualr caps were in-thearte (Angola) custom made and sewn items - from cloth supplied either from already sewn uniforms (cannibalised) or maybe from purpose ordered and supplied pieces - as this is def the reversible Egyptian camo cloth BUT the caps are nOT revirsible per se - I have seen approx 4 other identical sewn type pieces over the years so they not likely field-tailored or fully individual custom pieces - these are not sewn or designed as reversible pieces BUT one can see (next pic below) just-just a piece of the dark brown "rocks" from the other side of the cloth sticking out here, on the damaged brim............) Here we have on auction a REPRODUCTION or more correctly a FANTACY item as these kiko caps in Chinese/ East German "rice" or "falling rain" patt camo were (as far as I am aware) only ever made as recce copy camo items (and maybe made locally at unit level - maybe at 32 Bn tailors and/ or some SWATF units eg. 31 Bn Recce wing, SWASPES etc. as custom once-off items.  This rice patt kiko cap is newly made BUT I have used original East German cloth (re-purposed from a new unused item) -  BUT Please take note that this is NOT an original or period item! PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ORIGNAL ITEM - IT IT S NEW MADE REPRODUCTION/ FANTACY ITEM! I have only made a very small batch/ number of these rice patt camo kikos and they will not all be sold (most are gifts of free "promotional" items from my side to loyal clients!) - kiko caps are and were back in the day very popular amongst any Porra and Porra influenced forces! The SA SF (Recce) did make uniform items in this rice patt camo as part of their Recce copy camo items which were used as part of their kit when operating behind enemy lines deep into Angola etc. as part of their tactics as false flags/ psuedo ops or jsut to buy time when spotted to create doubt amongst enemy forces etc. Please see the photos for confirmation of the item's condition and further details.
