Book in excellent condition - Short gift message signed by Klatzow on the title page - SYLVIA WALKER did the writing as told by DAVID KLATZOW.  >>>  For a very long period of time, Dr. David Klatzow was the only independent forensic investigator in South Africa. During the apartheid years, a time of police brutality and state cover-ups, he was the man human rights lawyers called when they needed independent forensic evidence to uncover the truth. Although some cases are still unsolved, for him a case is never closed. The truth is out there, and he will find it.   Klatzow's investigations into countless notorious cases, such as the Guguletu Seven, the Trojan Horse, the murders of human rights lawyer Bheki Mlangeni and activist Dr. David Webster, and the bombing of Khotso House and Cosatu House, made him a controversial public figure. Hampered by the apartheid police and the legal system, he was always fearless and earned a reputation of being an 'ANC supporter', even though he always remained impartial. On a non-political level, he was instrumental in changing the testing mechanism for drunk driving in the 1980s and became an expert in fire investigations.  One of his most enduring interests is uncovering the truth behind the Helderberg airplane crash. Through a detailed analysis of the findings of the Margo Commission of Inquiry and having sifted through all available evidence, he is convinced that the official version of the story is far from the truth. More recently, Klatzow investigated the Paarl Press fire, the assassination of Brett Kebble and the murder of Inge Lotz. Fascinating reading for anyone interested in crime and current affairs; puts into perspective much of the information one hears about in the news.   *N.B.*   If you buy more books from me you only pay R 6 postage each on the additional books – see what else I have to offer, it might be worth your while.

At King's Landing, the head of Lord Eddard Stark rots on a spike for all to see. Little else in life is as dangerous as fire jumping. But there's also little else as thrilling--at least to Rowan Tripp. Being a Missoula smoke jumper is in Rowan's blood: her father is a legend in the field. At this point, returning to the wilds of Montana for the season feels like coming home--even with reminders of the partner she lost last season still lingering in the air. One of the best of this year's rookie crop, Gulliver Curry is a walking contradiction, a hotshot firefighter with a big vocabulary and a winter job at a kids' arcade. And though Rowan, as a rule, doesn't hook up with other smoke jumpers, Gull is convinced he can change her mind... But everything is thrown off balance, when a dark presence lashes out against Rowan, looking to blame someone for last year's tragedy. Rowan knows she can't complicate things with Gull--any distractions in the air or on the ground could be lethal. But if she doesn't find someone she can lean on when the heat gets intense, her life may go down in flames. This is a compilation of individual essays written during the summer-fall of 1992. The essays are designed to inspire thought within the Black Mind. These writings are primarily targeted toward the Black Youth of this day, of which I am a part of. I am not a "Master" of these teachings, but these teachings I wish to "Master." "They" say that my generation is not intelligent enough to read a book. I say that "They" are wrong. It is just that "They" are not writing about anything of interest that is relevant to our lives! And when "They" do write something, they have to write in the perfect "King's English" to impress their Harvard Professors! Here we are with a book in one hand, and a dictionary in the other, trying to understand what in the hell the author is talking about! If you have got something to say, just say it! We are not impressed by your 27-letter words, or your Shakespearian style of writing. The Black Youth of today don't give a damn about Shakespeare!!! This ain't no damn poetry contest! Wear are dealing with the life, blood, and salvation of our entire Black Nation! If you want to reach the People, you have to embrace us where we are, and then take us where we need to go. So, these writings are from my generation and for my generation with respect and love. If no one will teach, love and guide us, then we will teach love and guide ourselves. Peace.   Suzanne Collins- The Hunger Games Trilogy(MOBI-EPUB-PDF)[Team Nanban][TPB]  FORMAT: MOBI, PDF, EPUB  ISBN: 0439023483 | ISBN: 978-0-439-02349-8 | ISBN: 978-0-439-02351-1 | Size: 8.53 MB  DESCRIPTION:  The Hunger Games:  The Hunger Games is a young-adult science fiction novel written by Suzanne Collins. It was originally published on September 14, 2008, by Scholastic.  It is the first book of the Hunger Games trilogy. It introduces sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of  Panem where North America once existed. This is where a government working in a central city called the Capitol holds power. In the book,  the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the Capitol chooses one boy and one girl from each of 12 districts to fight to the death.  The Hunger Games exist to demonstrate that not even children are beyond the reach of the Capitol's jurisdiction.  Catching Fire:  Katniss learns that the Capitol is angry at her for her defiance in the previous novel, which started a chain reaction that inspired rebellion in the districts.  For a special 75th edition of the Hunger Games, she and Peeta are forced into competing a second time with other past winners. They team up with a  few other tributes and manage to destroy the arena and escape the Games. Katniss is transported to District 13, a place that is widely thought to  no longer exist, but Peeta is captured by the Capitol.  Mockingjay  Mockingjay, the third and final book, centers around Katniss and the districts' rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss, now a refugee in District 13,  demands the right to kill President Snow. Peeta and the others who were captured by the Capitol are rescued by a party including Gale,  but Peeta's memories have been "hijacked" with the use of tracker jacker venom, which causes him to hate Katniss. He tries to kill Katniss, but is restrained.  Finally, a group including Katniss, Gale, and a normalized Peeta go to the Capitol on a mission to assassinate President Snow. Before Katniss can reach him,  her little sister Prim is killed in a bombing. Snow later tells Katniss that Coin, the president of District 13, was behind the bombing.  During Snow's execution Katniss shoots Coin, and later Snow is also found dead, possibly from choking on his own blood.  Katniss has a psychotic break, and tries to kill herself while in solitary confinement. Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch return to District 12, and  Katniss eventually begins to recover. In the epilogue, it is revealed that Katniss and Peeta are married and have two children.

Subtitle: My Quest to Become the First Female Maasai Warrior Author: Mindy Bugnor Publisher: Allen and Unwin (2013) ISBN-10: 1743314477 ISBN-13: 9781743314470 Condition: Very Good. The cover has some light scratches and a bit of wear to edges and corners. Binding: Softcover Pages: 273 Dimensions: 23.5 x 15.5 x 2.3 cm +++ by Mindy Bugnor +++ Customer Reviews Tired of her job, bored of waiting for her university application to be processed, Mindy Budgor decided to make some changes. Driven by cultural curiosity, passion, fearlessness and a set of Jewish parents breathing fire down her neck, she bought herself a ticket to Kenya to volunteer on a building project in the Maasai Mara. After two weeks of working, sharing meals, and hiking at dawn with the Maasai, Mindy asked the chief why there were no female warriors. His terse reply -- that women 'aren't strong enough or brave enough to do men's work' -- hit a nerve. Mindy and her fellow volunteer Becca lobbied the chief to train them to become Maasai warriors. Trading in their Egyptian cotton pillowcases, cushy mattresses, down-filled quilts and matzah ball soup for leaf beds, tattered wool blankets and goat head soup, Mindy and Becca began a new routine of slaughtering goats and cows, spear training, buffalo hunting and drinking animal blood. Ultimately they transformed the chief's notions of female strength and courage and were inducted into the clan, becoming the world's first female Maasai warriors.
