Black Cumin Oil Black Cumin Oil100 MLBlack cumin oil is made from the seeds of the Nigella sativa plant and is a rich source of essential fatty acidsIt is used as a nutritional supplement and has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. In particular,  oil can be used to alleviate symptoms of arthritis, eczema, acne, and psoriasis.Researchers believe the active ingredient in oil to be thymoquinone, that has a strong influence on key mediators of inflammation. With all the wonderful advances in medicine & hygiene, a lot of these remedies have been pushed aside.Certainly, there is a time and a place for medicine, but research is now helping us understand the mechanism of these natural remedies that previous generations have depended on for so long. There are so many simple natural remedies with a long history of use that have been largely forgotten in modern times. From the health promoting (and hair-growing) properties of castor oil to the natural remedy uses for Apple Cider Vinegar, remedies found in nature have an important place in maintaining health. One of those is Black Seed Oil.

Grown for the mustard seeds. The plant is believed to be native to the southern Mediterranean region of Europe and possibly South Asia where it has been cultivated for thousands of years. The spice is generally made from ground seeds of the plant, with the seed coats removed. The small (1 mm) seeds are hard and vary in colour from dark brown to black. They are flavourful, although they have almost no aroma. The seeds are commonly used in Indian cuisine, for example in curry, where it is known as rai. The seeds are usually thrown into hot oil or ghee, after which they pop, releasing a characteristic nutty flavour. The seeds have a significant amount of fatty oil. This oil is used often as cooking oil in India. In Ethiopia, where it is cultivated as a vegetable in Gondar, Harar and Shewa, the shoots and leaves are consumed cooked and the seeds used as a spice. The plant itself can grow from two to eight feet tall, with racemes of small yellow flowers. These flowers are usually up to 1/3" across, with four petals each. The leaves are covered in small hairs; they can wilt on hot days, but recover at night. Thelocactus being a synonym for Hamatocactus and Thelomastus is a genus in the cactus family, Cactaceae. Members of the genus are native to the arid lands of Central and Northern Mexico. Thelocactus species are globe-shaped, short and cylindrical. They are small cacti, although there are one or two species which, while only about 15 cm high, can be 25 cm in diameter; for example, Thelocactus nidulans. Thelocactus species are generally solitary, but some varieties will cluster in groups. Thelocactus species grow in the wild in central and North Mexico but also on the other (northern) side of the Rio Grande, in Texas. Species can be distinguished by where they grow, whether in mountainous stony/rocky places or grassy territory with clay soil. Thelocactus species are generally easy to cultivate. Soils should be composed of equal proportions of sand and humus.            Water them normally from spring to autumn. In winter, keep most species at a minimum temperature of 8°C. They can survive at lower temperatures but the roots must then be kept dry. The dark brown or black seeds can be relatively large for the size of cactus and they germinate readily. They are well suited for growing in pots and rockeries. Reproduction is nearly always from seed, since the plant rarely produces plantlets. Thelocactus setispinus commonly known as Fish Hook Cactus, Hedgehog or Miniature Barrel Cactus is a globe-shaped to short cylindrical cactus about 8 to 12cm wide and up to 16cm tall. The 12 to 15 radial spines are needle-shaped, bright, brown or white and up to 4cm long. The 1 to 3 central spines are longer and stronger, straight and curved like a hook at the tip. The flowers are orange or dark yellow with a red center. This cactus blooms in summer. The red fruits are round or elliptical, a little scaly, about 8 to 10mm.

Black Dragon Coleus Seeds Breathe a little hot color into the shade border or sunny window this season with 'Black Dragon', an unusually richly-textured, warmly-colored foliage plant. Compact, very showy, and easy to grow, it's a must-have for anyone with a patch of shade (or empty flowerpot!) to call their own! The leaves are spectacular, both for their red-to-midnight-purple color shading and their rippling edges, which give the plant much more presence than most Coleus. The leaves will turn color and begin to pucker at a very early age, making this one of the most fun seeds to start indoors. (For even fuller, bushier plants, pinch back the young tips a few times during the growth season.) View our other items by clicking on the shield:

Pinus thunbergii  Bonsai Seeds Pinus is a genus of approximately 120 species of monoecious, evergreen, coniferous trees or shrubs, widely distributed throughout the world particularly occurring in mountainous and arid conditions where they are able to thrive. Pines are a classic bonsai species in Japan and the world over, they are not however, easy trees to care for and style without experience. Pines have their own growth patterns that differ greatly from deciduous and common coniferous species; these growth patterns need to be understood before successful styling and pruning can be carried out. As can be seen in the accompanying pictures; pines are not only used for bonsai in Japan, they are also very often seen cloud-pruned in Japanese gardens. Pinus thunbergii is a native of Japan and is arguably the classic bonsai pine species. The Black Pine is a very vigorous tree commonly grown Japan in parks and ornamental gardens where heights of anything up to 25metres are commonly reached. Black Pines are very tolerant of poor conditions, surviving in nature on barren, stony soils. Pinus thunbergii has thick, dark grey-green needles up to 7-15cm long, though quite long, the needle-size can be reduced in length with the use of bonsai pruning techniques. Bark is purplish-grey and becomes very craggy and fissured with age. White pines are frequently grafted onto the more vigorous Black pine, Pinus thunbergii, rootstock to improve vigour and growth-rate. On offer is a pack of 10 Seeds
