The collection comprises the full range of SA banknotes layered in stunning 24K gold.  They are manufactured using a gold leaf minted onto a polycarbonate substrate to maintain their rigidity and shape as the gold leaf is extremely thin. The gold content of each note is approximately g. The notes are stored in a faux-leather album and include a certificate of authenticity. The run is limited to sets.

This set is graded by PMG, sister company of NGC. The set consists of 4x SA serial numbers and 1x SD serial numbers. SA serial numbers are equivalent to AA serial numbers. Not many of these sets have been graded and as the run has apparently ended, very few SA serial numbered notes in Mint State condition will be available for grading. It does not feature his profile but is considered a 'Mandela coin'. 2000 Profile: This coin depicts a smiling Nelson Mandela and is often called the 'smiley' or 'smiley Mandela'. Mint State and Proof coins were minted in respect to Nelson Mandela on his retirement as State President and they are also very rare. 2008 90th Birthday: This Five Rand was issued to celebrate Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday.
