Ludwigâ€s Roses, a 60 hectare rose farm, lies in a valley just 18kms north of Pretoria. The rose nursery started in 1971 and as demand grew for a restaurant establishment, the doors to Spiced Coffee Restaurant opened in 2003. From humble beginnings the restaurant now seats up to 90 guests and serves the loveliest rosy treats. The nursery boasts the most spectacular fields of roses and free tractor rides on weekends to see the 1000's of roses! They offer free advice on all rose queries, 7 days a week! The Rose Kitchen a French Window and Brick enclosed restaurant nestled amidst the splendour of Ludwigâ€s Roses. The Rose Kitchen is modern restaurant with a hint of old world charm, the walls are filled with exquisite rose photography & art. A delectable display of our homemade cakes and an ever changing menu filled with rose inspired dishes is a delight to all our guests. The farm and restaurant are ideal for a wonderful day out. We have tractor rides on weekends and a wonderful range of edible rose products such as our: Rose jam, rose fudge, rosehip chutney & marmalade, rose vinegar and many more! Additional to the roses and restaurant, there is a Rose Shop that sells all things rosy from rose creams, linen mist & rose oils. For the kids there is a huge playground in good view from the restaurant and a dollâ€s house amongst the fairy-tale rose garden.   A beautiful mala of 108 richly coloured, 8mm high grade   Rose Quartz beads and Guru bead for meditation and japa. Hand made in India and encased in an organza bag for safe keeping. A Rose Quartz Mala is said to balance the emotions, thus giving inner peace and harmony, and to enhance one's sensitivity to beauty, art and music. Rose quartz is also said to calm aggression and resentment while increasing self-esteem and self-confidence, and to enhance one's compassion, patience and forgiveness. A Rose Quartz Mala is said to enhance your capacity to love others and yourself. The word 'Mala' means 'Garland'.  Mala beads can be made from wooden beads, seeds, semi-precious or precious stones or gems.  A full size Mala consists of 108 beads. The number 108 is a sacred, auspicious number in many cultures but particularly in the Hindu tradition.  The number comes from multiplying the 12 astrological houses by the 9 planets.  Each Mala also has a Guru bead, or tassel to remind us of the teachers in our lives.  Traditionally, the mala is held between the thumb and middle finger and as each bead is passed through the finger and thumb, a mantra or god is said silently, quietly or out loud.  The most powerful mantras are said to be those repeated silently in the mind. This is done until the Guru bead is reached (but not counted), the Mala is reversed and the process goes on until the Guru bead is reached again.  Repeating a mantra in this way is an excellent way of calming the mind and keeping thought of  'The Divine' (whatever that is for each one of us, whatever culture, religion or belief we hold) in our everyday lives.  To empower the mala, and the mantra used in association with this mala, japa (mantra meditation) should be practiced once each day for 40 consecutive days. When the mala becomes empowered, it can then be worn to transmit the energy of the mantra and the energetic qualities of the mala to the wearer.  If you use a different mantra, the energy of the previous mantra becomes replaced by the new one.  For this reason, many people have different malas for different mantras. When not in use, your mala should be stored in a special, clean and preferably sacred space, for example on a personal altar or on a statue of a deity.
