It must be worn for 2 weeks before you start seeing results (i.e. minimizes teething pain and discomfort). My daughter wore it day and night, swam and bathed with it on. It's not too long so it won't choke. Each bead is individually knotted on the necklace so if it is pulled and breaks only one bead falls off and not a string of beads. Beads are designed that if swallowed it won't get stuck and small enough to pass through stools. I have only used this with my daughter, not with my other kids, and I can definitely vouch that it works. Can be worn from age 8 weeks/2 months only.
