US Army, Plane, F-86, Military, WWII, Korean War, Navy, The Forgotten War, Token Edition Technical Specs Presentation Country: Metal Purity: Box: Year of Issue: Weight: 1 oz CoA: Face Value: Dimensions: 40 Quality: Mintage: New token with capsule The North American F-86 Sabre, sometimes called the Sabrejet, was a transonic jet fighter aircraft. Produced by North American Aviation, the Sabre is best known as the United States' first swept wing fighter which could counter the similarly-winged Soviet MiG-15 in high-speed dogfights over the skies of the Korean War (1950ヨ1953). Considered one of the best and most important fighter aircraft in that war, the F-86 is also rated highly in comparison with fighters of other eras. Although it was developed in the late 1940s and was outdated by the end of the '50s, the Sabre proved versatile and adaptable, and continued as a front-line fighter in numerous air forces until the last active operational examples were retired by the Bolivian Air Force in 1994. ____________________________________________________ Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

In deluxe hard-back volumes, "Flying Warbirds" brings U.S., British, German, Russian and Japanese fighting planes from the s and s together, complete with detailed photographs to delight every aeronautics connoisseur. The airplanes at the Flying Heritage Collection were created at a time when aeronautical discovery had evolved to aviation mastery. Finely crafted by distinguished design bureaus with the leading technologies of the s and s, the main emphasis of the collection includes combat aircraft from World War II. In , Paul G. Allen began acquiring and preserving these iconic warriors and workhorses, many of which are the last of their kind. SIGNED BY WINSTON BRENT 2007. Soft cover. A4 size. 445 pages. Very good condition. The cover has minor wear at the corners and a slight fold at the back. Over 1kg. African Aviation Series No. 13.  The author took on the task of compiling in-depth details of the 8000-odd aircraft that have seen service in the South African Air Force between 1920 and 2005. He introduces them more or less in the order of which they were taken into service and lists serials, construction numbers, delivery dates and fates where known. In addition he has 32 pages of colour side drawings for the modeller, plenty of b&w photographs of each individual type and a Roll of Honour that covers 56 pages, with details of rank, initials, surname, aircraft type and serial, and squadron where known. For the first time he lists the details of RAF air crew that lost their lives in South Africa during WWII while they were here for training.
