The game itself is a movie tie-in, but not a game of the movie; the plot doesn't follow the film's at all, instead pursuing Mike and Sulley's training at the Monsters, Inc. Scare Academy. Each level is presented more as a puzzle rather than a story progression; clips from the movie are included in between levels, but they don't really bear any relevance to the action at your fingertips. The gameplay uses elements from Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon: jump, spin, bounce--all your standard platform moves are here. However, this isn't a bad thing, as kids will love it. It's a fun, not overly complicated platformer, which does its job; if however you want an original gaming experience then maybe this isn't for you.-- Laurent S Hall
