This is the Reagan Dollar honouring Ronald Reagan the 40th President of the United States of America having served from 1981 - 1989. This coin has also been certified as a "Frist Strike" coin by PCGS. This means that the coin was one of the initial strike coins made during the design's primary production run, and was delivered to PCGS for grading within the first 30 days of release.   A Comrades Marathon Gold Medal. Awarded to Nick Raubenheimer who tied for 4th place in the 1960 up run with Trevor Allen in a time of 6h42m30s (see results image). In those days gold medals were only awarded to the first six competitors.   Obverse design by E.G. Kerby and Co., Jewellers of Pietermaritzburg and struck at South African Mint. Further information at South African Commemorative Medals. 9ct Gold (so stamped on back). Diameter 29.2 mm. Mass 12.9 gm. In originate SA Mint case of issue. This medal is stamped: “FOUNDER’S YEAR” on the obverse presumably to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the marathon by Vic Chapman. Raubenheimer competed in 22 runs (see images) between 1953 and 1975. He won 6 gold medals (1956, 1957, 1958, 1960, 1961 and 1964). His last win was as a veteran runner (over 40) and he came first in that class.    

African Aviation Series No. 22  SILVER FALCONS - 40 Years  The year 2007 was the 40th anniversary of the Silver Falcons, and it was only fitting to bring out this publication to commemorate the occasion. The author requested each of the surviving leaders to contribute a short synopsis covering his term as leader and many responded unselfishly. They highlighted their high points and low points during their term. As many photographs of each team that could be located has been included together with a listing of the members of each team and a listing of the displays in which they participated. This book covers Team 1 to Team 65, Member 1 to Member 89 and Display 1 to Display 524. It is A4 with 173 pages with plenty of colour and B&W photographs. For the modeler there are 8 pages of side drawings. It is available in hard cover and soft cover. The hard cover is a limited edition of 200 numbered copies, with the first numbers 1 — 89 being allocated to the Team members.

This book celebrates the 40th anniversary of Operation Savannah and serves as memorabilia for all Operation Savannah veterans. Operation Savannah was the first major conventional war since World War Two whereby the SADF came to clash against a MPLA force supported by the Soviet Union and Cuba. A5 size, 318 pages.
