Procurement Officer: JOB CONTENT Identify new sources of supply Initiates requests for quotations and proposals. Negotiate with suppliers on price, rates, delivery, quality and terms of payment. Ensure the procurement database is accurate at all times. Build professional relationships with key suppliers. Place orders on Suppliers and Contractors Ensure delivery dates are accurate at all times. Procure hardware, building and construction materials Constant follow up on orders Construction buying for projects/sites from conception to completion Maintain contract files and keep relevant information updated Constantly looking for cost savings/better prices - Communicating with a range of people including the subcontractors and suppliers - Liaise with the Project department and construction professionals and review the project to schedule deliverables - Planning ahead of time to prevent problems and delays on materials on site before they occur BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS · Minimum – Matric · A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing role within the building and construction sector · Computer literacy (MS Office Suite,Internet,E-mail) · Database management advantageous · Valid driver’s licence. Own Car preferred. · 1 year Purchasing Diploma advantageous Salary range R
