Procurement Officer: Applicants living within commuting distance to Cape Town preferable Salary R JOB CONTENT · Identify new sources of supply · Initiates requests for quotations and proposals. · Negotiate with suppliers on price, rates, delivery, quality and terms of payment. · Ensure the procurement data base is accurate at all times. · Build professional relationships with key suppliers. · Place orders on Suppliers and Contractors · Ensure delivery dates are accurate at all times. · Procure hardware, building and construction materials · Constant follow up on orders · Construction buying for projects/sites from conception to completion · Maintain contract files and keep relevant information updated · Constantly looking for cost savings/better prices o Communicating with a range of people including the subcontractors and suppliers o Liaise with the Project department and construction professionals and review the project to schedule deliverables o Planning ahead of time to prevent problems and delays on materials on site before they occur · BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS · Minimum – Matric · A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing role within the building and construction sector · Computer literacy (MS Office Suite,Internet,E-mail) · Data base management advantageous · Valid driver’s licence. Own Car preferred. · 1 year Purchasing Diploma advantageous
