Director of the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town from until his retirement in . Neville Dubow was a multi-disciplinarian, trained in both art and architecture. His special field of interest was the relationship and integration of Art and Architecture. As such, he was an influential critic, teacher and writer. He was an leading figure in the world of art and architecture in Cape Town, being, inter alia, the Founder Director of the Irma Stern Museum, a member of the Design Review Committee of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Iziko South African National Gallery. In , he was chosen as the Standard Bank guest artist for the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, and his exhibition entitled 'Neville Dubow - Sequences, series, sites: Photographs ' opened at the Festival and thereafter toured the major museums of South Africa. A photographer in his own right, with a particular interest in sequential imagery, he exhibited widely, and his work is represented in major South African and international collections.
