Based on the American racing format of the same name, this game tries to re-create its unique thrills and experience. Unfortunately, after the exciting FMV intro sequence, the game doesn't live up to expectations. The in-game graphics are smooth whilst running, however, the gameplay does slow down when there are many cars on the screen at once. The scenery is adequate but is plagued with unfortunate glitches, which results in graphical "pop-up". The sound effects recreate the situation admirably and the sound of crushing metal is convincing, which benefits the game, as it plays more like TOCA 2 than Formula 1: Season 2000. Even the tracks are uninspiring, due to the nature of the sport, mainly consisting of oval-shaped circuits, offering little challenge to the player. The main benefit of this game resides in its line-up roster, which contains all the latest information. As a result, Nascar 2000 can only be recommended to those who are fans of the genre. -- Alex Leung.
