The 9800GT is can display up to 1980x1024 and supports 2 monitors, all games up to DirexctX 10 and until about 2 years old can be run at maximum settings, newer titles you will need to lower the resolution and use medium settings, you can play Assassins Creed IV at near maximum, and VLC and other desktop graphical applications like Photoshop work wonderfully.
