As a PlayStation 3 launch title, MotorStorm was one of the most visually impressive games on the market, pitting quad bikes and off-road buggies against trucks and rally cars on the same circuit. Its sequel, Pacific Rift, took racers to a tropical island to test their mettle on beaches and in dense jungles. MotorStorm - Apocalypse takes players to a bold new setting: a city in the midst of a gigantic earthquake. With The City left in ruins, and its few survivors searching for safety, players will have to race across environments that crumble and explode as they drive, tearing through skyscrapers, ravaged buildings, darkened subways and over twisted bridges as the earthquake places further obstacles in their path. Once again players will see huge trucks face off against more nimble vehicles, including muscle cars and superbikes. 16 players can now race online, and up to four people can race locally using splitscreen. MotorStorm - Apocalypse marks a drastic departure for the series, its fresh environments giving each race a dramatic new twist.
