MARITIME SEA GOING / CHIEF ENGINEER (R0 / MARKET RELATED) IN SOUTH AFRICA

We are looking for a suitably qualified individual to fill the position of Chief Engineer on-board Fishing Vessel (Freezer and Wet fish). Do you have? • Marine Engineering Officer: Class 4 • Must have experience in similar position. On-board Fishing Vessel (Freezer and Wet fish). You will be responsible for: • Vessels are safely and effectively fully operational in accordance with SAMSA and other Maritime Regulations and Company Policies. • Repairing and maintaining vessels and Machinery on board. • Operations and Watch keeping. • Administration in terms of breakdowns, planning Extended Maintenance Periods (EMP), engine room logbooks, engineering spares control and record keeping. • Ensuring compliance to safety and emergency procedures by the engine room staff and machinery. • Ensuring good housekeeping practices are followed in the engine room. • Controlling on-board spares and ensuring that the correct grades and quantities of fuel and lubricant are confirmed before loading and that the correct tanks are identified before bunkering. • Managing and Training on-board engineering personnel.
