LEGAL ADVISOR IN SOUTH AFRICA

QUALIFICATIONS Senior Certificate with LLB Degree, articles completed. Admitted Attorney EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE •3-5 years post article experience as Legal Advisor in corporate firm •Experience in drafting, reviewing and edit agreements and contracts •Knowledge of property, sectional title and life right law in the South African context •Solid experience in providing expert legal advice to businesses •Solid experience in litigation matters SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES •Excellent communication skills (written and oral) •Computer literate •Proven organisational skills •Able to perform under pressure •Customer service orientated •Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously •Responsible, accountable and dedicated KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research, opinions and advice: •Conduct research and provide on point and accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders (i.e. companies within the group) to ensure that corporate activities are in line with applicable laws. •Contribution and establishment of legal guidelines in terms of all agreements. •Provide advice on all legal liabilities and take steps to control company exposure. Contract Vetting and Drafting: •Provide technically correct and accurate contracts reflecting the intentions of the parties. •Formulate, provide, advise and review all contractual agreements between the company and third parties to ensure that the interested of the company is protected and best commercial position maintained. •Control the transparency and relationship between the company and governmental bodies to ensure full compliance. Litigation: •Manage various litigation cases with the company lawyers •Assist with preparation of such cases. Administration and Record Keeping: •Maintain custody of legal documents. •Proper documentation handling and record keeping of all agreements and related legal documentation.
