Seeking to make an underground film, aspiring directorsLambert and Stamp sought out a young and upcoming band that reflectedthe early '60s youth culture to profile their rise to fame. They choseThe Who, known at the time as the High Numbers, and quickly abandonedtheir filming to manage the band despite their inexperience. Throughextensive archive footage and interviews with surviving members RogerDaltrey, Pete Townshend and Stamp, the feature chronicles the band'srise and their key relationship with the two managers until theyunceremoniously parted ways a decade later.
