Lucky Luke rides into a town of caffeine craving citizens who demand that Luke do something about the shortage. To add to Luke's woes, Lotta, edged on by a suffragette Susan D. Anthony, proclaims that she could do better as a sheriff. luke takes her challenge and goes her one better. She can have his star and he'll take over her saloon. Neither is prepared for what their new jobs have in store for them. Lotta discovers that the coffee is held by bandito named Valdez who isn't intimidated by a woman sheriff. Luke is dealing with the assorted drunks and trouble makers who are destroying the saloon. When Susan D. is kidnapped, Luke and Lotta try to rescue her.
