DUBBEL IN SOUTH AFRICA
Inspired by traditional Belgian Trappist Ale and Abbey Dubbels, winemaker and brewer Chris Boustred took on the idea of crafting a South African Dubbel. The Wild Beast Dubbel is made with imported speciality malts and local pale malts. The characteristic caramel-toffee flavour is obtained by the addition of candy sugar during boiling. Medium amber with a copper reflection Intense aromas of caramel, toffee, molasses and hazelnut. Citrus notes of lime and lemon-thyme emphasize the hop aromas On the palate you can find caramel and burnt toffee with traces of citrus. The taste is balanced by the broad bitterness and characteristically caramel-like flavours. No lingering hop flavours are present Lasting finish with balanced bitterness and a persistent intensity
