CIVIL CONSTRUCTION QUANTITY SURVEYOR IN SOUTH AFRICA
Position: Civil Quantity Surveyor Location: Western Cape Salary: R25,000 – R25,000 dependent on qualifications and experience Closing date: 20/06/2016 Candidate start date: ASAP Civil Construction Quantity Surveyor Western Cape Minimum Requirements: • At minimum a National Diploma in Civil Engineering, or BTech Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualification • A minimum of 6 years’ relevant civil construction quantity surveyor experience • Knowledge of specifications (COLTO, SABS) and conditions of contract and special provisions • Experience in measuring and reconciliation all aspects of construction work (Including • Physical Site Measurement) • Identify and calculate extra work rates (Variation Orders) • Preparation of monthly valuation certificates • Liaising and negotiating with Resident Engineer • Ability to check, analyze and reconcile construction costs and overall pro-active cost control • Experience in Material Stock control including measurements of materials for placement of orders • Forecasting turnover and profit • Able to work in a team environment with site staff and site management • Unendorsed driver’s license • Computer literacy in Candy, Ms Word, Excel and Ms Outlook • Flexibility in terms of working hours and willingness to relocate/travel for unspecified periods • Ability to speak, read and write in English Outputs • To ensure that all work done is claimed & certified using relevant specifications & conditions of contract so as to maximize company profit • To determine, maintain & minimize wastage levels • To ensure controlled & efficient site administration • Preparation of waste and cost reports to site management • Adherence to and enforcing of quality standards • Adherence to safety regulations • Maintenance of good relations with Clients, Consultants and the public Added advantages: • Contractual claims experience • EE/AA candidates will be given preference in line with our Employment Equity targets
