With each roll of the dice, players must choose from numerous options for moving their checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. If the doubling cube is used players may raise the stakes during the game. What is the object of the game? The object in backgammon is to move all of your checkers around the board into your home board and then bear them off. The first player to get all their checkers off the board is the winner.
