BACKGAMMON IN SOUTH AFRICA
A new take on backgammon to ease kids into this famous game. The board has been made clearer to make the game faster, but the strategy is still the same. Backgammon is one of the oldest board games known. It is a two player game where playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice, and a player wins by removing all of their pieces from the board before their opponent. Backgammon involves a combination of strategy and luck (from rolling dice). While the dice may determine the outcome of a single game, the better player will accumulate the better record over series of many games, somewhat like poker. With each roll of the dice, players must choose from numerous options for moving their checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. If the doubling cube is used players may raise the stakes during the game. What is the object of the game? The object in backgammon is to move all of your checkers around the board into your home board and then bear them off. The first player to get all their checkers off the board is the winner. Backgammon is a game of skill, and the more skill you have, the more likely you are to win. Contains 2 dice, a board and 20 monkey faces. Box size 38 x 16 x 3 cm Players 2 Age 8-99
