Designed by Darryl Bellotti, an Australian Indigenous artist of both Yamatji and Nyoongar descent, the coin's image is inspired by his boyhood memories of a hunting trip in northwestern Australia. The design shows a turtle surrounded by patterns of dots, symbolizing the hunters' journey, and circles, representing the places where they stopped. The Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse.Each Turtle Silver coin is housed in a beautifully illustrated presentation pack.
