Institution: Directorate Engineering and Technical Services (Zwaanswyk Mobile Workshop) Remuneration: Grade A: R 145 320 per annum Grade B: R 171 177 per annum Grade C: R 199 836 per annum Service benefits: 13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing allowance, medical aid allowance Requirements Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate Trade Test Certificate. Experience: Grade A: No experience required. Grade B: At least 18 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate. Grade C: At least 34 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate. Inherent requirement of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape. Competencies (Knowledge/skills): Be conversant with the requirements of the Machinery and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Extensive knowledge in the installation, mantainance and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and plant. Duties (Key result areas/outputs): Major repairs of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and plant. Plan and design of new installations and perform alterations of an advance nature. Install specialised systems. Perform preventative maintenance on critical and specialised equipment. Mentor technical staff in the application of new technologies and procedures.
