Hamilton was knighted in 1902 for a distinguished record in India, Africa, and Afghanistan. His image was later tarnished due to his involvement in the failed Gallipoli Campaign during World War I, subsequently detailed in his two volume Gallipoli Diaries published immediately following the war. 1905 first edition by Edward Arnold in London. With illustrations, maps and plans all complete. In good condition. R65 postage in SA. 361 pages.
