3m Solid Poplar Wood Table with Hoop Legs This table is made from Solid Poplar wood (Populus canescens) wood. Dimensions are 3000mm x 1000mm. This table can also be ordered in other dimensions. Please contact us for a quotation. Populus canescens, the grey poplar, is a hybrid between Populus alba (white poplar) and Populus tremula (aspen). It is intermediate between its parents, with a thin grey downy coating on the leaves, which are also much less deeply lobed than the leaves of P. albus. It is a very vigorous tree with marked hybrid vigour, reaching 40 m tall and with a trunk diameter over 1.5 m – much larger than either of its parents. It is also known in South Africa as Cottonwood or (Populier boom). The timber is tough, with low bending strength and stiffness, and medium resistance to shock loads.
