This coin only came in a presentation case together with the “Big 5” Lion Silver Proof 5 Rand (Crown) with a mintage limited to 1000. A “Blue Label FIRST RELEASES” holder means that the coin was graded within a limited time window of 30 days after the coin was issued by the SA Mint. To receive this designation NGC charges an additional $10. The pedigree awarded on the first line of the label: “Big 5 & Krugerrand Pf Set” means that this coin was received by NGC in the original presentation case for the set exactly as issued by the SA Mint. This pedigree is valued by American collectors. It is rarely seen here because the set weighs over 500 gm; so shipping costs are onerous.
