2000 PCGS GRADED PROOF-69 DCAM, MASSACHUSETTS QUARTER, 25C, IN SOUTH AFRICA

United States of America 2000  - Massachusetts Statehood Quarter Proof 69 - Deep Cameo USA 25c Coin, Slabbed and Graded A 2000 Massachusetts Statehood Quarter(25c) coin, from the San Fransisco Mint. The coin has been certified by the PCGS as Proof 69 - Deep Cameo. Launched in 1999, the United States Mint's 50 State Quarters Program was a 10-year initiative that honoured each of that nation's states in the order that they ratified the Constitution or were admitted into the Union.  Each quarter was produced for about 10 weeks and will never be produced again. This coin features the Massachusetts design. The program ran untill 2008 but due to it's popularity with the public and collectors alike it was extended with one more year to include the Territories Quarters Program. Which was a one-year initiative in 1999 to honour the District of Columbia and the five U.S. Territories.   State designs are displayed on the reverse (tails) of the quarters, while the obverse design displays the familiar image of George Washington.  But, to accommodate state designs on the reverse, the words "United States of America," "Quarter Dollar," "Liberty," and "In God We Trust" all appear on the obverse.
