A young vibey SEO and Web design & Maintenance Company is looking for an Intermediate / Mid level Web Developer to join our team of professionals to work on an exciting variety of web projects. Your main role will be to build Wordpress themes / plugins, translate designs into HTML / CSS / Javascript and then convert to Wordpress templates and integrate them into WordPress – our CMS of choice.Occasional custom PHP Projects will also be your responsibility.  Start date: As soon as possible / latest 1 December   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric 4 - 6 years’ permanent experience in Web Development Experience with both back-end and front-end development and design Strong Wordpress, Adobe Photoshop and PHP skills ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Very high attention to detail Process orientated Deadline driven and ability to work under pressure Organised Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic Excellent verbal / written communication skills – efficient regular feedback Ability to work independently or as member of a team EXPERT KNOWLEDGE: WordPress template development WordPress back-end customization and extension / plug in building with expert knowledge of WordPress (Plugin / theme development / API), PHP, HTML, Javascript and CSS Front-end development with HTML 5, CSS 3 & jQuery Strong experience in MySQL, SOAP and RESTful web services Strong experience building HTML/CSS across the major browsers Experience with XML and with modern source control (Git)   INTERMEDIATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING: WHM and c Panel PHP Ajax MySQL Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Integrating WordPress with other web based applications Managing, debugging, extending & documenting jobs from start to finishRe-develop, extend, and/or enhance existing codeIdentifying areas that can be improved and turning that into functionality from start to finish  EXPERIENCE BUILDING WEBSITES THAT FEATURE: Established & emerging W3C standards Minimized loading times Search engine optimization Web fonts Experience building mobile-optimized / responsive websites that feature: Touch screen optimization Retina / High-DPI optimization  CUSTOM FUNCTIONS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH TOOLS & LIBRARIES SUCH AS: jQuery CSS grids HTML5 Boilerplate WordPress starter themes Third party APIs  OTHER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ability to solve new problems independently using Internet resources Proactively educating yourself about the latest trends, techniques, and tools in the web development industry Managing multiple projects simultaneously Experience making information architecture decisions Knowledge of social media marketing and content marketing strategies Some experience with Drupal development is advantageous Experience using version control tools such as git  YOUR ROLE: Understand and accurate interpretation of client requirements and specifications Design, Develop and Maintain dynamic Websites and web applications, using Wordpress and other CMS’s Identify and rectify plug-in errors Quality Assurance Ensuring consistent high performance of the Website Custom PHP Development Other’s to be discussed REPORTING STRUCTURE:This position is responsible to and reports to the Head of Graphics and SEO with a Dotted Line to Head of Technical
