TEST LEAD – RETAIL INDUSTRY – LOCATION (CAPE TOWN) IN SOUTH AFRICA

This is an excellent opportunity for a TEST Lead to join Africa’s leading Retail Giant Based in CAPE TOWN.The main purpose of this role is to handle all testing of changes and new enhancements in the specified IT environment THE COMPANY: This is Africa’s largest Retailer offering a great culture and fantastic ongoing career prospects.Start Date:-01 March THE ROLE: As TEST Lead you will Plan, Design and Execute Test Process for the specified Project.Delivery of the testing capability and ensure timeous delivery without compromise, coverage of requirements, Test scenarios, Test scripts, Test reporting (Dashboard, Metrics, Defects..), Risk & Issue log, Test Status, defect management · Developing a test strategy for the Specified project · Creating a Test Plan/s & schedules · Provide timings for testing activities using PERT (pessimistic, most likely, optimistic) · Solely, as a one man show, execute and manage all testing activities during every stage of the test process (test case creation, documenting test findings, coordinating bug fixes and retests, coordinating UAT & assist with training efforts that may be required, release management) · Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort and making recommendations (refactoring & enhancements as required) · Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of quality of product & test deliverables · Assist with conducting risk assessments/managing risk/dependency identification · Report writing, meetings & communication (team & stakeholder as required) · Follow program/project specific protocols as communicated by the Program/Project and the TCOE Manager · Managing tests · Minimizing budget expenditure on testsREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: ISTQB Foundation certification. ISTQB Advance certification a bonus. 4+ years Testing. Knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process, Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools, Planning and management skills, People skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skillsAdvantage: Knowledge of Quality Centre or ALM Test Management Tool and Processes, Handling work stress Must have: Retail systems experience (A). Experience in testing off the self packages (COTS) (A).
