If that first cup of coffee is what makes you jump out of bed every morning, you may want to listen up on how roasting your own beans can take your cuppa to new levels of greatness. With these RYO beans and a little DIY in the kitchen, you’ll have the freshest coffee every morning without having to leave the house. Set of 5 packs of raw coffee beans from a variety of sources Selection includes 1 bag of RYO Blend, 1 bag of Brazilian beans, 1 bag of Colombian beans, 1 bag of Ethiopian beans and 1 bag of Guatemalan beans Creates a full flavoured and unique coffee experience Beans can be roasted in a pan or a cast iron pot on the stovetop, gas hob or even on the braai Simply roast the beans to the strength you prefer by placing 25g of beans into the pan (makes 2 cups) for minutes, stirring regularly and keeping an eye on the colour The lighter the roast, the more of its original flavour can be tasted. As the beans darken, the less you can taste these origin flavours and the more you start to taste the roast flavour Beans will smoke as they roast: the higher the heat, the more they will smoke As the beans roast, they will shed their skins. Gently blow these off as they cool after roasting Roasting your own beans allows for experimentation with roasting times, strength and grinding options to find your perfect balance Roasting in smaller volumes means that the roasted coffee is used before it goes stale Raw beans have a much longer shelf life compared to roasted or ground beans Note: Don't add any oils or spray to your pan, this is a dry roast.

Binding: Quarter cream vellum. Pages: 24 pages of prelims and 450 pages of text, illustrations and appendices. Dimensions: Folio. 40.5 x 30.5 x 7 cm +++ Edited by T.D. Kendrick +++ In the s and s, the artistic director of the  Urs Graf Verlag  publishing house was the eminent thinker and scholar of antiquities, Titus Burckhardt. Under his direction, Urs Graf Verlag embarked on the publication of a series of facsimiles of ancient hand-made manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells and the Ilias Ambrosiana. These productions were of such high quality technically and intellectually that they were highly acclaimed by both experts and the wider public. All the Urs Graf facsimiles were limited editions much prized by collectors, but they were also acquired by museums and by the major libraries. The Lindisfarne Gospel Codex, created in the 8th century contains the four gospels of the New Testament Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. It is a year old, hand-made illuminated manuscript, which is housed in the British Museum. The Urs Graf facsimile for sale here, is a complete reproduction of the original codex, bound in vellum with tipped-in colour plates. Only 680 copies were produced. When permission was granted by the British Museum for Urs Graf Verlag to go ahead with the production of the complete facsimile, a decision was also taken to organize a comprehensive study by a panel of experts to cover all aspects of the Lindisfarne Gospels. The accompanying commentary volume contains the results of the exhaustive study they conducted. The result is a triumph of classical scholarship.
