Ribbon:  Red with two dark blue and one white stripe at both edges closer to the red stripe than the outside.  Description:  (Obverse) Left-facing conjoined half-length busts of King George V and Queen Mary in crowns and robes of state; (reverse) a crowned GRI monogram flanked by the dates of the accession and the Jubilee.  Comment:  This medal was issued to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V and widely distributed to the great and good throughout the Empire. Date: 1945. Campaign:  Second World War 1939-45. Branch of Service:  British and Commonwealth forces. Ribbon:  Narrow red stripe in the centre, with a narrow white stripe on either side, broad red stripes at either edge and two intervening stripes of blue. Clasps:  None. Comments: All full-time personnel of the armed forces wherever they were serving, so long as they had served for at least 28 days between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945 were eligible for this medal. It was granted in addition to the campaign stars and the Defence medal. This is a beautiful coin depicting the first edition Honoris Crux decoration that was available for award during 1952-1975.  These unnumbered coins have been struck in a beautiful shiny silver finish. The Honoris Crux of 1952, post-nominal letters HC, was instituted by Queen Elizabeth II on 6 April 1952, during the Tercentenary Van Riebeeck Festival The Honoris Crux of 1952 is a silver-gilt Maltese cross which fits in a 45 millimetres diameter circle, with the arms of the cross in green enamel and with four eagles between the arms, all looking towards their right, with a roundel in the centre tierced horizontally in enameled orange, white and blue bands which represent the national flag and framed in a red circle inscribed “HONORIS CRUX”. The cross is suspended from a laurel wreath, in the form of a circular ribbon hanger, with the leaves in green enamel. Reverse The  pre-1994 South African Coat of Arms  is on the reverse, with the medal number stamped underneath. Ribbon The ribbon is 32 millimetres wide, with a 3 millimetres wide orange band, a 1½ millimetres wide white band, a 5 millimetres wide orange band and a 6 millimetres wide dark blue band, repeated in reverse order and separated by a 1 millimetre wide orange band in the centre
