The Africa Star is a military campaign medal, instituted by the United Kingdom on 8 July 1943 for award to subjects of the British Commonwealth who served in the Second World War, specifically in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943 inclusive. [1] [2] Three clasps were instituted to be worn on the medal ribbon, the North Africa 1942–43 Clasp, the 8th Army Clasp and the 1st Army Clasp. THIS IS A FULL SIZE GROUP THAT CONSISTS OF 4 MEDALS, ONE QUEENS BOER WAR, WITH 2 BARS, BAMBATHA 1906 UPRISING NATAL, KING EDWARD AND TWO WW 2 MEDALS, ALL ATTRIBUTED TO THE SAME PERSON. INCLUDED IN THIS GROUP OF MEDALS IS ALSO THE MEDALS BAR, AND 2 PHOTOS WITH THE SOLDIER WEARING THE MEDALS, ONE AS A BRITISH BOER WAR SOLDIER AND ONE PHOTO OF HIM AFTER WW 2, AS A CIVILIAN AFTER WW 2. THE BOER WAR AND NATAL MEDALS WERE ISSUED TO HIM WHILST HE WAS WITH THE UMVOTI MOUNTED RIFLES. IT IS EXTREMELY RARE TO HAVE A BOER WAR MEDAL, NATAL UPRISING MEDAL AND WW 2 MEDALS TO THE SAME RECIPIENT. PLEASE VIEW ALL PICS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.

Large lot 5 WW2 and 1 SADF border war medals and variety of military badges for 1 bid. This lot consists of: A WW11 War 1939–1945 medal and an Italy Star medal awarded to 280009 - S.J. Brazelle. The War Medal 1939–1945 was a British decoration awarded to those who had served in the Armed Forces or Merchant Navy full-time for at least 28 days between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945. The Italy Star was awarded for operational service (on land) in Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia, Pantelleria, the Aegean area and Dodecanese Islands, and Elba at any time between 11 June 1943 and 8 May 1945. The Africa Service medal for 216826 - H.P.J.J. Van Rensburg. Instituted on 16 November 1943 by King George VI of Great Britain. The medal was given for service in the Union of South Africa defense forces and other uniformed services. A WW11 War 1939–1945 medal awarded to 546181 - R. Mansley. A full size SADF General Service medal no. 148267. These medals were awarded for service in the SADF between 1 January 1983 and 23 August 1993. An uninscribed WW11 War 1939–1945 medal. WW2 S.A.C Signals S.A. Sein-Korps bi-metal cap badge. WW2 South African Tank Corps cap badge. A Cambridgeshire National Reserve cap badge. 4 SAAF/SALM badges. This consists of 2 cap badges (1 WW2 & 1 contemporary) and 2 other insignia. They are all SAAF/SALM. All medals and badges are in good condition considering their respective ages.
