This item is sold brand new. It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 5 - 10 working days Teach children that they are precious in God's sight. This omnibus contains three books about the popular character Punchinello. It communicates the message to all children that they are precious in God's sight, no matter what the rest of the world thinks. The Max Lucado Children's Omnibus will remain one of children's favourite books even as they grow older. You Are Special Every day Wemmicks do the same thing: either stick gold stars or grey dots on one another. The pretty and talented ones always get stars. Others, though, who can do little or who have chipped paint, get ugly dots. Parents will appreciate the message this story conveys to children: regardless of what the world thinks, they are precious in God's sight. You Are Mine The need to be important is creating havoc in Wemmicksville. And once again Punchinello is in the middle. Follow his foibles as he learns a lesson that kids of every age must never forget: God's children are loved because they belong to the Father, not because of what they possess. Best of All When the famous Bess Stovall arrives in Wemmicksville, everyone wants to be in her club. But Punchinello can't because he is made of the wrong wood. Eli the woodcarver helps Punchinello see that he is special because Eli made him. We don't have to be famous to be special. God made us just the way we are — on purpose. With our 24/7 news cycle and constant access to the latest headlines, the world can be a scary place. Now imagine you're a child trying to make sense of it all! That's where books from the Children in Our World series can help. Each book uses relatable comparisons, carefully researched text, and striking illustrations to help kids understand the many difficulties that children just like them face in the world today. In Racism and Intolerance, children can get answers to questions like: "What does it mean to be a racist--or intolerant?" and "How can I help?" Children will begin to understand the way others struggle with these issues and become empowered to make a difference. Award-winning illustrator Hanane Kai uses a deft hand to create powerful illustrations that help children visualize the people impacted by poverty, hunger, war, racism, and more. All of the images are sensitively rendered and perfectly suited for younger children. These books are an excellent cross-curricular resource--use them to explore important issues and tie them into discussions about food, wealth, compassion, empathy, and current affairs. by Louise Spilsbury (Author), Hanane Kai (Illustrator) ISBN-10: 1438050224 Age Range: 6 - 10 years Grade Level: 1 - 5 Series: Children In Our World Hardcover: 32 pages Publisher: Barron's Educational Series (February 1, 2018) Language: English ISBN-10: 1438050224 ISBN-13: 978-1438050225

'It' is a Psammead, an ancient sand-fairy who has the power to grant the children one wish a day. That, you might think, would be a dream come true! But you need to be very careful what you wish for: whether it's for wings, treasure or beauty, things can - and often will - go wrong. With all the illustrations by H. R. Millar, newly scanned from the original edition.Five Children and It is the first book in the Psammead trilogy: next, discover The Phoenix and the Carpet and The Story of the Amulet.'The cheerful, child-centred anarchy of Five Children and It is still my inspiration and delight' Kate Saunders, Guardian'My all-time favourite classic children's author' Jacqueline Wilson'If Britain is to children's fantasy as Brazil is to football, then Edith Nesbit is our Pele - endlessly surprising and inventive. But she is more than that. There were fantasy writers before Edith Nesbit but she is the one that brought the magical and the mundane together in a moment of nuclear fusion. She opened the door in the magic wardrobe, pointed the way to platform nine and three quarters. She even had a hand in building the Tardis. And these are among her minor achievements. She is also simply the funniest writer we have ever had, while being the one who could most easily and sweetly break your heart with a phrase. Just try saying "Daddy oh my Daddy" without catching your breath. She made the magic worlds feel as near as the Lewisham Road and she bathed the Lewisham Road in magic' Frank Cottrell-Boyce This collection of the best in children's literature, curated by Virago, will be coveted by children and adults alike. (This title is available on demand: expected date of dispatch will be 4-7 working days once ordered) Anna Angrysaurus is a very angry dinosaur. She gets cross when her brother beats her at games, or when she can't watch what she wants on television. She roars, howls and stamps her feet. Will she ever be able to keep calm? Written by Brian Moses, this funny picture book explores different things that might make young children frustrated at home or at school, such as sibling jealousy, not being allowed to do what they like, or even feeling grumpy for no reason at all. Different ways of dealing with anger and avoiding tantrums are then set out. The clever and funny illustrations, by internationally renowned illustrator, Mike Gordon, bring a light touch to these stories, helping children to learn about and manage their emotions in a fun and lighthearted way. Excellent notes for parents and teachers at the back of these books show how to approach these issues with children. Other books by Brian Moses and Mike Gordon: I Feel Frightened; I Feel Angry; I Feel Jealous; I Feel Sad; It's Not Fair; I Feel Bullied; William Worrydactyl; Gracie Grumposaurus; Jamal Jealousaurus; Samuel Scaredosaurus; Sophie Shyosaurus. Paperback. English. Methuen. 1959. 361pp. Good condition in hardcover with tatty dw. The Golden Age/Dream Days/Wind in the Willows One of the all-time great animal stories and a true classic of children’s literature by Kenneth Grahame. The Wild Wood seems a terrifying place to Mole, until he finds it’s full of friends - Kind, sleepy Badger; brave and lively Ratty; and the irresponsible Mr Toad, famous for his wealth and his car smashes. But there are also the sinister weasels and stoats, and they capture Toad Hall when Mr Toad is in jail. How will he escape? And can the friends fight together to save Toad Hall? Kenneth Grahame’s classic The Wind in the Willows needs no introduction. Entertaining adults and children alike for over a hundred years, characters such as Ratty, Mole, Badger and, of course, the irrepressible Mr Toad have influenced children’s animal stories ever since. Fun, exciting, whimsical and dangerous at times, The Wind in the Willows can’t help but spark a child’s imagination. In this Egmont Heritage edition, Kenneth Grahame’s animal book, is made all the more beautiful and enthralling thanks to the original illustrations by E. H. Shepard, the man who also drew Winnie-the-Pooh. A stunning gift book for any child or inner child.
