Card Addressed to Pretoria with Passed by Censor Cachet with Pretoria 18.8.1901 Arrival Strike.  Card in good condition. Scarce P.O.W. Mail  Clear strikes cover in good condition  as it traveled in fairly trying conditions.

Boer War - Prisoner of  War Art - C.A. Kruger - Bermuda 1902. On this walking stick is embossed "C.A. KRUGER" and under that is embossed "BERMUDA 1902". The handle had been damaged as shown in the photo. It appears that there was a brass fitting on the tip, but that is missing. The length of this item is 89.5 cm. and its diameter at the brass ring is 1.5 mm. Apart of the damage mentioned above is this walking stick still in  very good condition.

The author has penned multiple short poems, in which he promotes Baden-Powell as the epitome of British stoicism in the face of adversity. References are made to the Boer General Cronje, describing him in a non-flattering manner.   Baden-Powell's gallant defence of the town is noted as being worthy of the Victoria Cross as seen fit by an individual who once fought against the Boer forces 20 years prior.   A personalised and reflective item - which captures the essence of British public opinion during 1900, as the course of the conflict was unfolding.
