Hydrangea quercifolia Seeds Common Name: Oakleaf Hydrangea The Oakleaf Hydrangea gets its name from the shape of its beautiful large leaves which resemble the shape of an oak tree leaf. Lush and lovely through the spring, this medium to large shrub produces magnificent blooms through the summer with foliage turning to lovely colors of brilliant red, orange and yellow in autumn. Flowers are borne in erect very showy large cone-shaped clusters on the ends of branches. Blooms start out creamy white, age to pinkish and by autumn and winter are a dry, papery rusty-brown. The flower clusters don't fall apart when dry and are excellent to be used in floral arrangements or you can leave on the plant throughout most of the winter.
