MERCHANDISE PLANNER – DESIGN CENTRE IN SOUTH AFRICA

An opportunity has arisen for a Merchandise Planner within this DESIGN CENTRE. You will be responsible for: Critical path adherence from concept to delivery. Plan and re-project required fabric and CMT capacity for replenishment to fulfil retail projection Preparation of all financials for reporting purposes Reset process task line steps in Sync based on required Manufacturing price and add Buffer orders To highlight manufacture ready targets, follow up and report progress, and escalate any problems to the Key Accounts Manager Management and implementation of distribution strategy e.g. analysing stores profiles & sales trends, developing promotional & range distribution by store & cluster The ideal candidate should have: Proven working experience (2 years minimum) with a background in a manufacturing environment. The incumbent should have a good understanding of both production and retail. Relevant Diploma (advantageous) A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work In depth knowledge of design to production process Good understanding of manufacturing processes Understand raw material processes as well as costing and garment construction. Computer literacy in word, excel and planning systems Strong business acumen and merchant thinking Good organisational and interpersonal skills - Excellent communication and negotiation skills Proven decision-making ability Strong affiliation to systems, utilising them to increase productivity in line with the merchandise strategy Position located in Cape Town.
