HEAD CHEF NEEDED IN SOUTH AFRICA
We are a busy restaurant and bar in Fourways looking for a qualified and experienced head chef to become part of our team. You need to have relevant experience in the kitchen, managing staff and taking responsibility for costing, scheduling shifts and making sure the kitchen is properly managed and stocked at all times. Our business is growing fast and there are exciting opportunities for growth for the right person. Enthusiasm and appreciation for beer an advantage. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain a high standard of service at all times. Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and HACCP guidelines are implemented, adhered to and reviewed regularly, in respect of kitchen production, employees, machinery, equipment and hygiene. Monitor all products with regards to value and quality Make sure all areas are clean and tidy during and after service To ensure the Stock Labelling and Rotation System is followed daily To help establish the Kitchen area as a positive work environment for all Schedule shifts and manage kitchen rota Be accountable for stock levels of fresh produce To keep stock usage, wastage, loss and breakages in the kitchen to a minimum level and to record accordingly Suitable candidate will fulfill the below minimum requirements: 5 - 6 years experience in a busy kitchen environment Good timekeeping & able to work shifts Excellent communication and organizational skills Have experience with fresh produce Understand how a busy kitchen operates Cope well under pressure Be focused and ambitious Have excellent health and hygiene controls A keen eye for detail and excellent presentation skills Please reply to this ad with your CV.
