FITTER REF: IN SOUTH AFRICA

Fitters needed for processing plant in the Winelands. You will be responsible for ongoing maintenance on plant machinery in order for optimal production to be realized. Duties: Mechanical repair and servicing of production equipment in a food processing plant. Rebuilding of gearboxes, conveyer systems and packing machines. Fitting and alignment of pumps. Welding, Fitting and basic turning. Adherence to documented procedures and controls. Adherence to health and safety standards. Reporting of defects and potential failures of production and engineering equipment. Assistance with technical projects, i.e. rebuilding or modification of production equipment. Availability to perform reasonable duties which are outside the normal scope of work, if required. Working day shift, alternate on standby for callout duty after hours Working overtime as and when required. Requirements: Trade tested Fitter. At least 5 years’ experience. Experience with food processing equipment seamers, cookers, etc. Experience of motor-gearbox combination drives, packaging equipment, belt conveyors, steam installations and pumps.
