Electronics Engineer - Building Services Consulting Midrand The role requires competency in hospitals / health facilities electronics, functional design specification development, electronics system simulation (where applicable), report writing, construction management and communication skills. The position will report directly to the Power and Energy Manager Qualifications & Requirements BSc or BTech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Professional Registration with ECSA Must have experience in design & construction management of: PA Systems, Fire detection, CCTV, Access Control and BMS 5+ years’ experience and in a consulting environment Experience in Health Projects will be an added advantage Must own a car and be in possession of a driver’s license (Non-negotiable) Competencies/Skills Team Player but must be able to work independently Must be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team Good communication skills; must have the ability to communicate at all levels Must be able to work under pressure Must be an Innovative and constructive thinker Must have analytical skills Computer/Soft Skills An applicable simulation software Ms Office Ms Projects Duties Electronic Design Develop and design various electronic components as per project requirements Conduct (electronic) construction management Carrying out feasibility studies Drawing up plans using computer assisted engineering and design software Evaluate electronic systems and recommend design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements Project Management Ensure that all project deadlines are achieved on time Project cost management Understand Client’s project requirements Quality Assurance Monitoring Electronics systems commissioning, and analysing data Ensure a proper control and maintenance of project documents and records Ensure that all QA procedures and guidelines are followed Construction stage quality monitoring and administrative functions Safety Making sure projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations Understand and comply with all company, client and industry regulatory safety rules and regulations Recommend ways to improve Health and Safety programs Use protective equipment as required. Project Cost Management Responsible for budgeting and realising revenue Ensure that project costs are constantly monitored and controlled so as to maximise profit potential Ensure that Power and Energy Manager is informed on a regular basis of the status of the project/s Reporting Writing technical reports and giving presentations to the Power and Energy team, managers and clients Compilation of due diligence and system efficiency reports Administration/General Overseeing inspections and maintenance programmes Coordination with clients, contractors, professional team members and in-house staff Client liaison, meetings and business development
