A trendy digital agency is currently looking for an Intermediate Web Developer to join their dynamic, innovative team in Cape Town. As the Intermediate Web Developer, you will be primarily responsible for designing, maintaining and implementing website coding architecture and new features in order to support the rest of the digital team. Candidate Requirements and Responsibilities: Requirements: Degree/diploma in computer science, computer engineering, information science or related technical discipline Skills/Competencies and experience with at least 4 years’ worth of professional development experience Proven portfolio of work Firm grasp of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SEO principles Firm grasp of Photoshop / Fireworks and Flash advantageous Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in object oriented design, data structures and algorithms Strong software design skills Knowledge of one or more modern JavaScript/JQuery frameworks Basic knowledge of MySQL Exposure to UX design Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing The candidate will be required to interpret technical specifications (when supplied), develop, test and deliver according to spec and document and support there developments Must be motivated to continue learning, researching and implement new technologies. Comfortable with basics of Git and version control Good verbal/written communication skills Responsibilities: Analyse and design new features for the web Proposing website solutions as required Coding for the creation of new and maintenance of existing websites Must take responsibility for the developments, applications, systems, etc within their projects.
